Job Purpose To provide support to New Product Development and Production Unit engineers through the testing of components and materials for process development projects and on-site investigations. Key Responsibilities Routinely writing and maintaining test methods, test protocols and procedures forms an integral part of the job. Analysis and testing of materials and components using the following equipment: optical microscopy, contact angle goniometer, Differential Scanning Calorimeter, Thermogravimetric Analyser Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectrometer, Melt Flow Rate Indexer, Nanoindentation & Scratch Tester, Scanning Electron Microscope, Dynamic Mechanical Analyser, Rotational Rheometer and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy. In addition to testing, the job will involve sample preparation, collection of data, statistical analysis, results interpretation, and report writing. Test equipment troubleshooting, monthly and yearly maintenance checks will be required. Communicates any concerns about work process regarding environmental impact, health, and safety issues to their manager. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Exhibit excellent team player characteristics and builds strong collaborative relationships accoss the organization. Manages multiple complex investigations. Proactively negotiates with stakeholders to prioritize when necessary and effectively communicates testing lead times as required. Demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality. Understands and complies with all the regulations governing the quality systems Education & Experience Level 8 Bachelors Degree in Polymer Engineering/Science or equivalent (240 credits) Ideally 1-2 years experiences as an Engineer supporting Characterization or Problem Solving preferably in the medical device industry. Good technical capabilities and ideally experience in Material Characterization Analysis. Strong communication skills, teamwork abilities and initiative. Proven ability to work well both as part of a team but also able to work on own with minimum supervision.
