Practice Area: Corporate Practice, In-House/ Public Sector, International KDP Ireland is seeking to add a strategic, agile and proactive Senior Corporate Counsel primarily responsible for providing legal and strategic direction to business leaders in a wide range of commercial areas supporting KDP business in Europe, Asia, Central America and South America, such as Ireland, Switzerland, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Brazil, Colombia and the Netherlands. The successful candidate will set the Procurement strategy for all of KDP across the globe, participate on the Ireland and Asia leadership teams, provide comprehensive commercial legal support and advice in various commercial areas, including procurement, manufacturing, privacy, compliance and regulatory and serve as the legal liaison for all intellectual property matters in Europe. Responsibilities: Develop the global legal strategy for procurement and other supply chain matters. Provide strategic legal advice and practical solutions to the procurement organisation on a wide range of commercial legal and compliance matters while partnering with internal and external legal partners across the globe. Lead the legal support for all aspects of the general operations of business in Ireland which includes a manufacturing facility. Manage all corporate and Board support functions in all countries outside N. America. Identify the need for legal support within business transactions and projects. Draft and negotiate complex commercial contracts independently including identifying issues and risks (e.g. indemnification, limitation of liability) and coordinating with necessary subject matter experts on topics such as IP, tax finance, data protection, data privacy, etc. Support the Tax and Finance functions on strategic projects to achieve savings objectives in Europe, Asia, Central and South America. Bring structure, consistency and efficiency to the legal department’s operations and support across international procurement operations, including developing international best practices that will mitigate the company’s risk. Effectively manage resources to to determine scope of necessary resources (external and internal) and to lead a successful team. Develop strong relationships with business partners and work strategically with KDP’s business teams to reach company’s goals; have regular and significant interaction with key functional areas including business unit leaders. Collaborate efficiently and effectively across legal and business functions in a manner that adds value, balances risk and protects the company’s reputation. Set the strategic direction for intercompany agreements and processes informing global work in this area. Support the Legal department’s efficiency initiatives through various internal projects and track and report on progress. Follow all KDP and KDP Global and Ireland specific policies and procedures. Set the tone to integrate the global legal support function into the local leadership teams in a manner that is accountable and customer centric. Requeirements: Extensive years of experience in commercial and international business law at a large law firm or corporate legal department, including complex multi-country agreements and cross-border transactions, preferably in a CPG environment. Experience advising global teams in broad range of procurement activity across the full contract lifecycle, from bid solicitation, competitive bidding, vendor selection, to contract negotiation, administration and claim evaluation. Leadership skills and strategic vision. Ability to work in a fast-paced organization; manage and prioritized multiple issues and projects while being highly responsive. Excellent judgment in knowing how to proactively communicate, escalate issues and propose solutions. Collaborative behaviours, including ability to effectively communicate with business leaders. Strong decision-making abilities and experience leading teams and/or large projects. Ability to function at a high level where geographically separated from the larger corporate legal team. Education and technical skills: Graduate of an accredited law school. 12+ years’ experience in general commercial law and international business law with a multinational corporation and/or large law firm. Prior experience with a multinational manufacturing company, preferably a CPG company.
