OVERVIEW:   Monitor and Optimise the daily operation of the waste water treatment plant (WWTP) and support the WWTP team to ensure compliance with Industrial Emission License (IEL).   RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:            Monitor/Optimise the daily operation of the WWTP and support the WWTP team to ensure compliance to the site Industrial Emissions License (IEL).          Assist Environmental Manager to ensure a lean approach is used and daily operational KPI are monitored and communicated to support data driven decision making in the WWTP. Ensure timely communication to site operations if there are production impacts due to WWTP conditions.         Manage  all WWTP purchasing & stock requirements for the WWTP and laboratory, ensure all files are kept up to date for financial reporting.          Liaise with WWTP consultants as required.         Manage the daily operation of the WWTP laboratory and ensure all testing is completed to schedule, calibration of testing is completed and review all daily results and report any issues to the Environmental Manager and WWTP consultants.          Maintain weekly & monthly reporting metrics on plant operation to target a "lean operation" approach & budgetary compliance.         Provide operational cover for WWTP Operators as required.          Liaise with the waste contractors to manage NMP sludge collection & land spreading activities.         Schedule all WWTP routine maintenance requirements with the maintenance department, schedule calibration and the annual maintenance plan and ensure all works are completed in compliance with the site Health & Safety parameters.         Manage the WWTP Glanua maintenance contract.         Ensure all waste- water metering and sampling systems are maintained and calibrated including the production site waste sampling system.         Issue daily COD report to the operations team and conduct weekly and monthly trending of data.         Manage all external laboratory sample testing in requirements with the IEL.         Develop, document and update  SOP  in relation to WWTP operation and Laboratory testing and in compliance to the requirements of ISO 14001.         Assist complaint investigation in relation to Wastewater Treatment to implement immediate corrective and preventative actions to minimise the negative impact on the river and the local community.         Conduct weekly River sampling and condition monitoring.         Ensure all Health & Safety criteria are complying and WWTP housekeeping is to a high standard.         Support the role of the Environmental Manager to ensure compliance to the requirements of the IE Licence, ISO 140001 & site standards.   QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE:         Diploma/ degree in environmental science or related discipline desired but not essential.   KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES / CORE COMPETENCIES:      Experience  in Wastewater Treatment Plant operation.      Experience in Environmental Laboratory testing.      Experience operating   Environmental Standards  and Systems.      Proficient in data management systems, trend analysis and  reporting.      Written and spoken English fluency.      High PC literacy is essential.   PERSONAL ATTRIBUES / CORE BEHAVIOURS:         Effective interpersonal, communications and management skills with a strong team ethic.         Ability to work cross functionally and build strong relationships.         Excellent organisational / time management skills.         Strong self-discipline and a structured approach to improvements         High motivation, Flexibility, and the ability to work on own initiative.     Note: As with all positions, due to the nature of our business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time.
