Manufacturing Freight Lead

The Manufacturing Freight Lead has oversight and coordination of the overall Manufacturing Freight Operations, Costs and Performance for our internal manufacturing sites. The purpose of the role is to develop best in class freight operations through cost, service, and process, that are aligned to our Zoetis global transportation standards and business performance targets.With a high degree of focus on performance and partnership, this Lead role will drive change and improve performance by challenging the current situation, and actively partnering with Manufacturing, Quality, Global Logistics, and associated teams to support a continuous improvement culture.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The successful individual must be able to perform each essential duty. Identify and develop key relationships and partnerships both internally and externally.Ensure best in class service level to internal and external customers and smoothen the logistics processes to provide flawless delivery of service.Manage the Transportation Partners to obtain best in class service and leverage the scale of our Global Transportation network to drive service and cost excellence.Develop, evolve, implement, and continually monitor KPI’s to promote the right performance levels and controls. Examples of some key metrics include:Cost to serve.Budget commitmentOn time collections.On time Deliveries.Quality rate and deviations.Shipment lead time.Agreed continuous improvement initiatives.EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:University Degree in Management, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or appropriate industry experience.CORE COMPETENCIES:Recognized and proven leadership competencies.Deep functional knowledge in logistics with preferred experience managing a large scope in working primarily with freight forwarders.Prior exposure to procurement activities including contract review and negotiation strategy.Knowledge of GDP requirements with experience managing temperature-controlled shipping and high value goods.Ability to assess carrier performance based on customer feedback and implement changes where necessary.Experience leading operational changes working in a dynamic organization across different business functions.Excellent decision-making skills.Ability to resolve complex issues and effectively problem solve.Critically analyze the As-Is to improve the To-Be.Energetic and driven to succeed and takes accountability for self and team.Ability to influence and collaborate cross functionally.Business acumen and financial management skills (drivers of Manufacturing Freight budget, budgeting process, continuous improvement projects).Results and action focused.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Prior experience with SAP, Microsoft 365, PowerBI reporting.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSDue to the critical business nature, this lead role will be based in Dublin, Ireland.Full timeLegal statement as belowThis job advert indicates the general nature and level of work expected.
