From building our satellite optical transport network technologies to working with satellite operators and system integrators on designing and deploying satellite communication systems.Please note this is a 100% onsite role, based in Galway.ResponsibilitiesContribute to optical alignment and test strategies for entire instruments or subsystems in a series production industrial environment.Specify and procure the needed optical equipment for AIT activities.Quantify the performance of our approaches in technical budgets.Align and cooperate with other AIT disciplines (mechanical, electrical, system).Execute the optical AIT activities in the onsite cleanroom and at external facilities.Present results to the project team and customers.Occasional travel to visit customers, suppliers, and test facilities.Work collaboratively across the company - with management, procurement, production and multidisciplinary technical teams.Meeting with clients, suppliers, stakeholders and project managers to define requirements, test plans and report on project progress.Liaising with suppliers, research partners and clients to build strong working relationships for close collaboration.Support tender bids.Key requirementsUniversity degree or PhD in Technical Optics, Physics, Space Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.Either graduate or several years of experience in space or precision optics.Optics & optical metrology (wavefront measurements, light sources, lasers, detectors, imaging systems, lenses and mirrors) from ultraviolet to far infrared wavelengths.High-precision positioning systems (hexapods, stages etc.).Numerical data handling and scripted command control of measurement setups (e.g. Matlab, Python, EDEN).DesiredDevelop, plan and document the detailed processes for cleanroom activities.Optical design software (Zemax, ASAP).Optical and mechanical tolerancing.3D metrology instruments and software (laser trackers, theodolites, CMM, Spatial Analyzer).Knowledge of optical fabrication & coating technology.Procurement of complex optical equipment, experience with cost and lead time.Good understanding of precision mechanics & drawings.Experience in clean rooms (ISO5 / Class 100).Experience in leading a small technical team without disciplinary power.Diversity, Inclusion and Equal OpportunitiesCore ethical values, diversity and inclusion are invaluable to Mbryonics’ business success.
