Pricing Actuary – Dublin 12 Location: Dublin Type: Permanant Category: Customer Service, Office Support / Admin, Sales Salary: DOE Our client is seeking a Pricing Actuary to join their Underwriting Team. You will be reporting to the pricing management, you will play a key role in the further development of Pricing & Analytics for portfolios within Underwriting. Your responsibilities will include conducting actuarial analyses, developing pricing structures, implementing technical price and propensity models, and enhancing data-driven business insights. What does my day to day look like in this role? Conduct actuarial analyses to assess price adequacy, informing tactical actions and strategic direction. Oversee the development and maintenance of technical price and propensity models, ensuring their implementation within their systems. Develop new pricing structures and enhance existing ones in alignment with the Business Strategy. Collaborate with pricing management and the UW Change team to design, test, and maintain system-based pricing models and tools. Promote data quality and enhance business insights through effective use of data and analytics. Design and monitor a control environment to ensure robust pricing processes and procedures, including quality controls for model development and maintenance. Provide support to projects and change programs, taking on a subject matter expert role as needed. Mentor and develop junior team members, including actuarial trainees, university interns, and analysts, contributing to their performance management and individual development plans. What’s required for this current position? Qualified actuary with a minimum of 3 years' experience in general insurance pricing. Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Professional designation FSAI/FIA/FFA or international equivalent. Enthusiastic, driven, and solution-oriented mindset. Strong technical knowledge of general insurance pricing techniques, processes, and analytical systems. Excellent communication skills, fostering open discussion and collaborative problem-solving. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities. Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, collaborating with pricing management and business partners. Proficient in Excel, SAS/SQL, and actuarial software skills (e.g., EMBlem, ResQ, Radar).
