The successful candidate will maintain and enhance the professional services and provision of care to residents, managing all operational matters (clinical and non) to improve resident outcomes. The overall objective of the role is to provide leadership and management to the team, ensuring that the homes vision and values are understood and acted upon. Ensuring, through management of the team, that the quality of service and care is always to the highest possible standard whilst adhering to regulatory requirements.   Principal Responsibilities include: Provide clinical leadership to the home and team. Enhance and lead the delivery of person-centred care to residents. Promote the concepts of person-centred care which meet the physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs of the residents. Conduct audits and develop action plans to address any areas of noncompliance. Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of relevant regulations, standards and guidance. Workforce planning and employment decisions including selection, mentoring and applying appropriate corrective actions. Support and empowerment of floor managers to effectively manage in their roles. Encourage, mentor and monitor others for management and clinical decision making. Analyses performance from the business and financial perspectives and assist to achieve financial goals and objectives. Ensure that risks are proactively identified and support the appropriate persons in the treatment of such risks and are reported upon and escalated appropriately. Ensure that decisions made to support the attainment of objectives within your areas of responsibility are made within budget. Chair and conduct clinical and governance meetings. Contract type and terms 1 year fixed term maternity cover contract Full - Time Commencing approx Late October / Early November   Requirements: A qualified RGN with at least 3 years' experience in the last 6 years in care of the older person Not less than 3 years' experience in a management capacity in the health and social care area Current registration with NMBI A post registration management qualification in health or a related field. Post registration qualification in dementia care and gerontology, highly desirable. Detailed knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations. The ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members, team members, management and external bodies e.g. HIQA, HSE, GPs etc. Strong planning, organisation and people & financial management skills Evidence of continuous professional development.   We are renowned for teamwork and excellent provision of care.
