We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices in Ireland.Salary: circa.€60,000 + car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.Working Pattern: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract | Full Time | options available As a Community Fund Manager you will be joining a dynamic and growing team which is responsible for delivering and administering SSE's community funds on the island of Ireland. The funding is primarily associated with community benefits generated from our wind farm sites and we currently have a programme of funding with an annual value of circa €2 million. Working as part of the Community Investment team, you will take responsibility for the development, management and administration of a key part of grant-funding programmes and will be responsible for a number of tasks, including:- Establishing new community funds associated with our wind farm sites in line with new government rules, regulations and best practice. Local decision-making is key to the success of the funds, and you will be responsible for managing a committee of local people to carry out this important role.- Work with the communities and community organisations which will benefit from the funding to ensure that it is invested in line with the terms and conditions laid down by government, as well as delivering legacy to the areas of benefit.- Managing the fund application process including assessing applications to the fund on a fair and equal basis, supporting the local decision-making committee, completing due diligence checks and undertaking evaluations.- Acting as an ambassador for SSE, you will seek to build strong relationships with local and regional stakeholders from community representatives to politicians, ensuring that a positive impact to both the community and company is maximised.- Work closely with and advise business units on community and community funding issues such as policy and best practice.What do I need? To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:- Previous community development experience or experience of working in the third sector.- Excellent communication skills and confidence in presenting to both small and large groups of people.- Strong planning skills - you will be expected to manage several community funds simultaneously, carefully balancing workload with deadlines in the most efficient and effective manner.- An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office to enable you to produce first-class reports and case studies.- A degree of flexibility is also required as your role will include working out of core hours, particularly evenings, and to travel within Ireland and the UK.About our BusinessSSE's business strategy places addressing the challenge of climate change at the very core of what we do - that's why we have deliberately decided to link long-term business goals to the UN's global goals for sustainable development.
