*Overview of the post: *

The Clinical/Counselling or Educational Psychologist will work as a member of the Sánas multi-disciplinary team providing services to children from 4-17 years their family members, carers and staff members.

The Clinical/Counselling or Educational Psychologist will report to the Director Of Community Services.

The Clinical/Counselling or Educational Psychologist will be responsible for conducting Assessment of need (AON) where required, along with providing a quality and needs based service including assessment diagnostics, intervention, programme planning, monitoring and ongoing service delivery to children with complex needs.

Professional clinical supervision will be provided.

*Contract type: *Full time Permanent 40 hours per week. However candidates interested in Part Time or reduced hours contract will be considered.

*Location: *Option of Service locations in Balbriggan, Finglas and Wicklow.



*Essential Criteria :*

· A recognised university degree or diploma (QQI level 8 equivalent) with first or second class honours in which Psychology was taken as major subject and honours obtained in that subject, *and*

· A recognised post-graduate professional qualification in Clinical/Counselling or Educational Psychology , recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland and validated by the Department of Health and Children, *and*

(Applicants with qualifications obtained outside of Ireland must provide a certificate of validation of their qualifications from the Department of Health and children)

Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office, and including an interest and experience in working with children and young people with disabilities and complex needs.

· Experience in carrying out clinical and diagnostic assessments in Ireland, including

· Full clean driving licence, use of a car and willingness to travel

· Ability to work in a self-directed manner, prioritising workload

· Effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills

· Effective planning, organisational and time management skills

· Commitment to continuous professional development

· UpToDate knowledge of relevant developments, changes and best practice within the field of Intellectual Disabilities

· Experience of inter-disciplinary team working.

*Desirable Criteria :*

o Evidence of participation in continuous professional development

o Experience conducting _Assessment of Needs_

o Experience in the supervision of trainee clinical psychologists
