This is a place to make a difference in the world.The Role & What You Will Be DoingOur Global Device Development organisation is focused on the design, development and commercialisation of a diverse portfolio of device technology solutions to enable delivery for our large and growing generic and branded products around the globe. We develop device technologies to enable drug-delivery for respiratory, biologic, biosimilar and injectable products, and work across Viatris to support innovative technology solutions to provide healthcare solutions for our patients. We operate from 4 sites: Dublin, Ireland, Cambridge & Sandwich, UK and Southpointe, Pittsburgh, USA. The Senior Device Design Engineer role is a multi-project design and development role, and here’s how this role will make an impact:Working in multi-disciplinary teams to provide focused design input and development of the technical specification and functional design of robust combination products Creating, reviewing and updating detailed designs of component and assemblies of the combination products, specifically the documentation including specifications, bill of materials, 3D CAD models and part and assembly drawings for components, assemblies and the packaging required for the deviceTaking a lead in problem solving, identifying and mitigating risks within the design of combination products to help the team control and minimize use-related, design related, and process related risksAbout Your Skills & ExperienceFor this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:First or upper second degree in mechanical engineering, product design, or equivalentExcellent inter-personal skills and experience of working in a multidisciplinary environmentStrong time-management skills, able to navigate multiple projects and changing prioritiesExperience of the development of drug delivery products and all stages of the product development process, through to commercializationDemonstrable experience in preparing technical documentation for a regulated industryFamiliarity with compliance requirements and design controls for medical productsAt Viatris, we are dedicated to building a truly diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t fully align with every requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
