The history of Abbott Diagnostics is filled with examples of first-of-a-kind products and significant technological advancements.PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Overall responsibility for meeting the production schedule, material requirements planning, purchase order management, inventory management, and work order management to ensure customers requests are actioned within the time schedule requested in accordance with the company’s budget, policies, and procedures.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESOpen/Maintain/Release Process orders.Batch Determine Process Order Components.Generate Lot Assignment sheetsGenerating purchase requisitions as necessary and ensuring the material is released within the agreed timescale.Changing/updating existing BOM to ensure accurate and timely customer requirements.Maintain accurate inventory transactions, Quantities and due dates.Prepare documentation for the disposal of all obsolete or rejected materials in accordance with the company policies and procedures.Monitor and Control inventories of Bulk suppliers W.I.P and finished products ensuring achievement of plant inventory level goals.Maintain high standard in housekeeping, GMP and Safety.Contingency Planning when have technical or supply issues.Execute to the production schedule by ensuring Process Orders are available, Batch Determinations are completed, material availability, technical issues are resolved. Minimize distressed inventory particularly lot ends.Generate and Maintain MLC’s.Create and maintain the ERP data in accordance with company policy and procedures. Track router accuracy, lead-times, yields, qty pers and ensure systems and batch planning sheets are updated accordingly. Track FG dating guarantees, incoming batch sizes and dating guarantees.Hold Report & Reserve report ResponsibilityReviewing Material at risk of Expiring ReportSupport rest of team on adhoc basis as directed by your Team Leader / ManagerOrder pegging by completing Batch Determination from Bulk to Kitpack.Issue production monitoring reports such pipeline analysis, critical elevation forms and others as required.Attend min balance report and new part introduction meetingsProvide training for planning groupBe system experts for planningSupport financial planning exercise for Plan and updatesSupport BEx projects as requiredCo-ordinate and participate in Ramp Up /Ramp DownComplete all activities in a safer manner ensuring that any potential safety issues and areas for improvement are addressed.Ensure Environmental procedures eg recycling, waste minimization are adhered to and improvements made where possible.Approve Change requests for planning group as requiredIdentify and participate in continuous improvement projects, process simplification, system enhancements and automation of activities (e.g. reports and plan exercise).EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:Appropriate qualification in either Purchasing/Productions Planning e.g. Diploma in Purchasing or relevant APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) examinations or General Degree with relevant Manufacturing experience, this will provide a basic understanding of the planning techniques being used in AIDD, which is required for the position.At least two years experience in production planning in a manufacturing company. Preferably previous experience with planning short shelf life products. Overall experience required is 3 years. This experience will ensure that planning related issues are understood and dealt with in a well balanced and professional manner.Planners will provide leadership and direction to their respective areas of planning responsibilities in the plant to meet the commitments. Contacts with all levels of management within the plant.Contacts with Abbott personnel in other affiliates especially in planning shipping/distribution/marketing.A high level of expertise is required in solving scheduling, logistics, expediting and purchasing problems.Planning related issues must be dealt with quickly, otherwise they could result in a production shutdown.
