In response to this growth and international expansion, a Financial Controller is now needed to lead the day to day running of the business. As one of the biggest freshwater Aquaculture business in Ireland we feel this will be a great opportunity for someone who can share our dream to be the most trusted Trout brand worldwide About the roleWe are seeking a Financial Controller to lead the financial development of the business for the next phase of growth.  The role will work closely with the Managing Director. In addition to managing the day to day finance function, the role will involve:Drive commercial value, operational efficiencies and strategic development across the organisationProvide strategic insights into business performance both internally and externallyLead and manage all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions ensuring smooth & timely execution of all accounting processes and reports.Ownership of monthly accounts and all reporting KPI packs.Proactively leading management of cash flow, financial planning & analysis of company’s financial position aligned to the company’s business plan and agreed ARR, growth & profit margin metrics.Collaborate with sales on new business proposals/tenders and be actively involved in commercial pricing models and unit economics.Continuous review of internal controls and procedures to ensure adequate financial and non-financial checks and balances are in place to safeguard cash flow and profitability.Manage the evolution of automated reporting with a focus on leading indicators, profit margins and cash flow management.Risk managementEnsuring compliance with legal and tax requirementsDevelop cross-functional data-gathering and reporting methodologies.Act as the main point of contact with both internal and external stakeholders ensuring that a strong working relationship is maintainedProvide the company directors with insights across spending, global market trends and develop business strategy in accordance with their guidance and approvalCorporate governance Other key responsibilitiesAs head of a key division within the business, the FC will participate in companywide business initiatives and projects with a view to increasing revenue, profitability and market share. As part of the wider management team, they will have the opportunity to participate in a range of internal committees and will have the opportunity to influence the firm’s future direction.More specific workEnsure monthly accounts are produced with relevant commentary and KPI’s on working day 5.  Challenge the business functions on their non-performance if applicable.  Present these accounts to the senior leadership team.Weekly flash figures to be presented to the management team on a Monday afternoon/Tuesday morning challenging any non-performance.Review individual customer margins and challenge the sales team when required.Review all costings and ensure the correct pricing is being provided to the sales team.Review working capital and ensure it is correctly managed to maximise cashflowProduce 12 month rolling forecast figures for profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflowDevelop the finance team and ensure the team are adequately trained and upskilledReview the costs in the business and identify costs savings.Review any strategic projects and ensure they meet the required ROIModernise the finance function and the entire reporting process across the business.Develop relationships with funders and manage the company’s debtEnsure audit is completed on a timely basis.Oversee compliance with the revenue commissioners requirements.Prepare board reports and present to board. The ideal candidate – experience and educationStrong digital and financial skills, be energetic and collaborative with a proven track record of delivering operations growth and financial efficiency improvements in a manufacturing/ production business over a 5-year period.10 years of financial experience preferably in food production industries, ideally having worked their way up to an executive role.Well-rounded with commercial acumen and previous P&L responsibilityExperience in developing a high-performance team through recruitment, development and objective settingStrong relationship building, interpersonal, and communication skillsAbility to network within the food services industry and find win-win outcomes with stakeholdersMust be adaptable in their approach and able to deal with ambiguityExcellent analytical skills with a track record of using various digital platforms and data for continuous improvementThe ability to make effective decisions in a timely manner, understanding when to act independently, inform or escalate Requirements Extensive finance and accounting knowledge.Management experience.Ability to prepare financial forecasts and assess markets.Strong data analysis skills.Experience making data-driven decisions. This role will be located at Goatsbridge near Thomastown in Co. Kilkenny, with its rich cultural and historic heritage and a great place to live. This beautiful location is just a 20-minute drive from Kilkenny city and 30 minutes from Waterford offering easy access to rail service to both Dublin and Waterford. Salary and package will be commensurate with experience and qualifications
