REPORTING TO:Person in Charge/Residential Area Manager/Children's Disability Network Manager/Head of Discipline as relevantLIAISE WITH: Residents and Staff in Adults/Children's Services, Multidisciplinary Team and Parents & Families.LOCATION: Adult Residential centres in accordance with the rosters operated by the service.HOURLY COMMITMENT: As per contract. Rostered duties, 12 hour shifts, days/ night shift, weekends and weekdays.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide daily care for residents in compliance with relevant regulations.Establish respectful relationships and promote independence.Assist with physical care, daily living, and social skills.Support residents with budgeting and financial management.Facilitate tailored leisure activities and community integration.Maintain cleanliness and safety within the residence.Administer and record medication as needed.Foster social integration in the local community.Ensure safety and tidiness in residence areas.Manage household budgeting and purchases as directed.Maintain necessary records and reports.Foster a welcoming environment for visitors.Participate actively in team meetings and conferences.Maintain confidentiality of resident information.Health & Safety:Practice safe use of equipment and report incidents promptly.Stay informed about safety regulations and procedures.Report faulty equipment promptly.Ensure knowledge of emergency procedures and fire safety measures.Leadership:Manage, develop, and support staff individually and as a team.Coordinate individual support plans to meet resident's needs.Conduct supervision meetings and goal setting.Ensure staff adherence to policies and procedures.Maintain effective communication with residents, colleagues, families, and stakeholders.Promote dignity and respect in the workplace.Encourage staff-resident relationships based on respect and independence.Embrace advocacy in person-centered care.Handle complaints according to policy.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:A HETAC Accredited Diploma/Degree in Applied Social Studies/Social Care or a qualification in Nursing (RNID) or Social Work (Degree).Experience in managing behaviour which challenges.Experience with adults/children with intellectual disabilities.The ability to work on his/her own initiative and supervise service users/staff in a residential setting.Full Driver's LicenceESSENTIAL SKILLS:Proven clinical competence and passionate about delivering outstanding care to older people.Excellent Leadership, Organisational and Communication skills.Sound decision making ability and results driven.Ability to work well and promote a team environment.Willingness to be flexible and adapt to the needs of the company.Full Irish Driver's License and access to own transport is essential.BENEFITS:Pension contributions.Excellent training and career progression opportunities.Education Assistance Program.Friendly & supportive working environment.Employee well-being initiative available.Free on-site Parking.Note: This job description may evolve based on the changing needs of the organisation.
