Our client, an Irish water and wastewater technology startup, are seeking to hire an experienced Regional Lead to join their growing team and lead out their operations in Perth, WA. Requires relocation to Perth, Australia Our Client are seeking an experienced individual to fill the role of Regional Manager in Australia, with high profile projects expected to be delivered in Greater Perth Area in 2024. The Australian Regional Manager position is therefore a unique opportunity and an exciting role within a high growth potential company which will oversee day–to–day business operations and lead on the growth of the team presence in the Australian region.The successful candidate will be responsible for business management, project management and oversight in Australia, financial control of projects, staff management, business development activities and ensuring customer satisfaction on projects across the Australian region. The successful candidate will also assist with administrative functions such as hiring, office management, inventory and human resources. The role involves working with a multi–disciplined team based in Ireland and Australia with the successful candidate responsible for ensuring growth of the Australia office in line with the company’s business plan.Key Responsibilities• Lead day–to–day operations at the clients’ satellite Australia office. The candidate will be expected to build a team, lead core operational requirements including business development, sales, project delivery, customer satisfaction, staff management, cost control and administrative duties.• Instill a culture of teamwork and excellence by advancing company values within the Australian satellite office.• Working with the Executive Management team to advance company growth and commercialization strategy in the Australian market.• Oversee project delivery (budget, schedule, procurement, delivery, commissioning, quality & risk) for projects throughout Australia including, design, construction, and closeout, collaborating closely with the customer to ensure project goals are met, developing, and implementing action plans to correct variances.• Engaging in Business Development activities for the company. Developing new customer and partner relationships and maintaining excellent relations with existing customers.• Travel for business development activities such as tradeshows and conferences, site visits (during sales, installation, commissioning and operational stages) and customer meetings throughout Australia• Deliver presentations to customers and other relevant stakeholders.•Prepares scope of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimate & budget, cash flow, schedule & milestones, quality control, and risk identification.•Identifies project delivery resources and communicate resource requirements effectively to the Executive Management Team.•Identify talent in line with the Company’s recruitment objectives and conduct interviews for prospective candidates.• Tracks progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets, approved timelines. Reports status and variances. Creates action plans to meet objectives, budget, and schedule.• Negotiating pricing, lead–times, payment terms, and other contract terms with suppliers.•Providing technical oversight including procurement specifications involving stainless steel fabrication, pumps, propulsors and associated ancillaries.• Demonstrates a knowledge of construction / installation projects in the water or wastewater industries.• Identification of project risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks, ensure all customer stakeholders are fully updated throughout.• Lead the project closeout process, including closely working with operational teams to ensure a smooth handover of completed projects.• Other duties may be assigned as required to assist in the successful delivery of any project.Key Requirements• Education PreferencesUndergraduate degree in an engineering field of study.Preferred 8 years of related experience and/or training.Supplementary Project Management qualification would be useful but not essential.•SkillsDemonstrated leadership qualities and skills through previous experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to author technical reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, co–workers, and/or supervisors.Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or groups of employees.Strong level of computer literacy and knowledge of key packages. – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, AutoCAD.Technical and contract negotiation skills.Fluent written and spoken English.Knowledge and ExperienceThe successful candidate will have accumulated project management and leadership experience preferably in the disciplines of civil or mechanical engineering particularly related to water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, design or build or in the general construction industry.Requires in–depth knowledge of business development, financial terms and principles.Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.Experience of and has capability to read, understand, analyze, and comment on standard documents affecting equipment design and installation, including but not limited to agreements, project charters, surveys, schematics, drawings, and specs.Experience in managing multiple projects concurrently.Working knowledge of contract commercial terms and conditions.Familiarity with mechanical equipment specifications.•Additional RequirementsTravel will be a requirement within Australia and sometimes elsewhere throughout the globe.Implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks for customers and company.Ability to work effectively, under pressure in a fast–paced growing environment on multiple projects simultaneously.Strong planning and decision making. Ability to meet performance requirements.Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.Must be independent, flexible, and creative in respect to finding solutions to project problems.
