Mechanical Project Engineer

Overview On behalf of a Cork based Client, PM Group are looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer on an initial 12 month contract. Our Client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who will provide technical support and leadership within their Capital Projects Team. Responsibilities Will lead and manage small to medium scale Mechanical Projects including budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, monthly reporting, updating of project trackers and ensuring project goals are met. Co-ordination and supervision of Mechanical contractor(s) during construction and commissioning activities. Ability to manage workload of multiple multidiscipline projects of varying complexity. Report to the Capital Projects Manager on project progress, risks and issues. Technical: Generating detailed scope of work packages for Mechanical contractor for tender / procurement process. Assist with Mechanical Design as part of an integrated project team. Design reviews. Review of technical submittals. Participate in Constructability and Safety reviews. Development of cost estimates. Health & Safety: Project Health & Safety requirements on site. Reviews of contractor RAMS, safety plans. Conducting safety audits. Quality: Ensure adherence to the client’s quality and engineering standards. Validation. Other: Familiarity with SAP Familiarity with tendering process. Process Engineering Support: Carry out or provide technical direction on engineering studies related to new products or equipment. Become involved in equipment/plant design to ensure that the equipment is fit for purpose, meets user, safety and GMP requirements and minimises life cycle cost. Qualifications Engineer shall possess a degree in Mechanical engineering, equivalent experience and have a minimum of five years’ experience working in a relevant industry. Have previously work in Site Capital projects groups. Skills Required: Good project management and communication skills. Construction Supervision & Safety. Capable of working independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team. Organizational, planning and scheduling skills. Be conscientious, have excellent attention to detail and an ability to multitask. Skilled at problem solving. Strong leadership qualities Excellent IT skills (AutoCAD and MS Office Suite Software) Experience of: Managing budgets and cost control.
