About the jobThis is an exciting time to join a small, agile and impactful Irish medical team as the MSL, Medical Specialist for Rare Disease, Neurology (Multiple Sclerosis) & respective Patient Support Programmes (PSPs) in Ireland. Main responsibilitiesMedical affairs contribution to the therapy area strategy and operations for IrelandAccountability for understanding Healthcare Professional (HCP) and patient needs in Ireland and support a strategic and tactical therapy area medical plan designed to improve patient care and generate evidence of relevance for IrelandDevelop a strong network of KOLs to enable appropriate and well utilised medical deliverables which make an impact to evidence generation, communication and patient careContribute to the local evidence generation plan and execution for the franchiseInput into the gap analysis and development of innovative approaches to Evidence Generation and Clinical Plans to meet the needs of the local therapy area for IrelandWork with Medical Operations Team, PSP alignmentExternal and Internal Medical and Scientific Affairs CommunicationExternalBuild Health Care System's relationships and collaboration, partnering and building trust/ commitment with key stakeholdersDeliver HCP engagement excellenceInternalProvide the Irish commercial lead and brand team with medical opinion to develop operational plans that align to patient needs to deliver commercial successDevelop and maintain technical scientific expertiseSupport and enable Local Clinical Trial delivery in conjunction with internal and external partnersAccess InteractionsDevelop strong working relationships with early Portfolio Strategic Launch teams and HEOR teams to ensure optimal launch readiness for IrelandProvide the market access team with medical opinion in order to develop robust market access strategy for future indicationsSupport the medical review and draft defined market access dossiers such as Rapid Review and full Health Technology Appraisal documentsMaintain ComplianceAbide by the requirements of the current IPHA and ABPI Codes of Practice including but not restricted to maintaining high professional standards of conduct, in line with Company policies and procedures, with a duty of care to the reputation of the CompanyAbout youExperienceMBBS (with licence to practice and either MRCP, MRCGP etc. and/ or advanced degree MD/PhD), BPharm/MPharm (with current registration) or BSc in biological/ medical science preferable with an enhanced degree i.e. PhD Competent to critically appraise studies and clinical evidence so as to allow engagement on higher scientific level with HCPsGood understanding of trial designs and RWD/ RWEExcellent communication and presentation skills, experienced in the delivery of scientific presentationsAgile, independent and proactive working style Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and of regulatory and reimbursement processes for Ireland (IPHA Code of Practice, HPRA and NCPE)Working knowledge of the HSE, including the ability to understand clinical priorities and how processes work within this systemSuccessful experience of transverse project managementAble to build strong working relationships to achieve optimal outcomes for patientsAbility to collaborate and share information to contribute to the planning process and execute the agreed Medical plan in line with objectivesPursue .
