Job DescriptionHealth & Safety Partner - County OffalyRef No: AM18151xCounty Offaly, Republic of IrelandCompetitive salary Health & Safety Partner - County Offaly.Job Summary:To develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of all employees, contractors and visitors to the company and to provide the main source of expert advice on health and safety matters to the site .Duties / Responsibilities:• Develop policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of all employees, contractors and visitors to the company.• Coach supervisors and managers in good and best practice and understanding of safety processes • Develop and maintain a safety culture in the workplace including the use of behavioural safety approach.• Participate in the site management team owning the safety agenda o Attend daily PIT meetingso Complete daily safety walks o Maintain the safety dash boardo Participate in LEAN management and continuous improvement • Provide the main source of advice and guidance to the company and its managers on health and safety matters.• Provide weekly and monthly reporting on accidents, incidents , near misses and other relevant health and safety metrics • Monitor the company’s operations, processes and procedures to ensure that they comply with health and safety regulations.• Investigate and report on accidents and related incidents, recommending any changes that may be necessary, to ensure that the company complies with health and safety regulations• Carry out a risk analysis for the company and recommend any changes that may be necessary.• Complete risk assessments• Coordinate and drive the site safety committee with the Site Manager • Maintain good working relationships with relevant authorities to ensure that the company’s interests are safeguarded and a safe and healthy working environment is maintained.• Provide any necessary training and coaching to managers and staff to ensure that they comply with all health and safety requirements.• Set up and maintain health and safety consultative machinery and provide all required training and facilities for safety representatives to ensure that the company meets its statutory requirements.• Monitor facilities and internal procedures for recruitment, training and retention to ensure that the company meets its requirements under the provisions of relevant legislation including the Disability Discrimination Act.• Review working practices and safety equipment to ensure that the company meets the requirements of insurers and other relevant bodies.• Maintain an awareness of developments in the field of health and safety to ensure that the company continues to comply with best practice and legal requirements.• Be an active participant in group initiatives including the safety forum.• Support safety colleagues on other sites and business units• Other projects and responsibilities to support company objectives as required.• Coordinate and record safety related training • Completed employee inductions • Provide manual handling and other related training acting as an expert and specialist in relevant certified training.• Coordinate service providers to deliver safety services
