Vickerstock are proud to be partnering with a leading FMCG company to recruit a Health and Safety Manager for their site in Offaly. Our Client is seeking a diligent and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of all employees, contractors, and visitors to the company.Duties / Responsibilities:Develop policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of all employees, contractors and visitors to the company.Coach supervisors and managers in good and best practice and understanding of safety processesDevelop and maintain a safety culture, in the workplace including the use of behavioural safety approach.Participate in the site management team owning the safety agendaAttend daily PIT meetingsMaintain the safety dash boardParticipate in LEAN management and continuous improvementProvide the main source of advice and guidance to the company and its managers on health and safety matters.Provide weekly and monthly reporting on accidents, incidents , near misses and other relevant health and safety metricsMonitor the company's operations, processes and procedures to ensure that they comply with health and safety regulations.Carry out a risk analysis for the company and recommend any changes that may be necessary.Complete risk assessmentsCoordinate and drive the site safety committee with the Site managerMaintain good working relationships with relevant authorities to ensure that the company's interests are safeguarded and a safe and healthy working environment is maintained.Provide any necessary training and coaching to managers and staff to ensure that they comply with all health and safety requirements.Set up and maintain health and safety consultative machinery and provide all required training and facilities for safety representatives to ensure that the company meets its statutory requirements.Monitor facilities and internal procedures for recruitment, training and retention to ensure that the company meets its requirements under the provisions of relevant legislation including the Disability Discrimination Act.Review working practices and safety equipment to ensure that the company meets the requirements of insurers and other relevant bodies.Maintain an awareness of developments in the field of health and safety to ensure that the company continues to comply with best practice and legal requirements.Be an active participant in group initiatives including the safety forum.Support safety colleagues on other sites and business unitsOther projects and responsibilities to support company objectives as required.Coordinate and record safety related trainingCompleted employee inductionsProvide manual handling and other related training acting as an expert and specialist in relevant certified training.Coordinate service providers to deliver safety servicesQualifications:Relevant Health and Safety Qualification.Proven experience in health and safety/FMCG environmentStrong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.To speak in absolute confidence about this opportunity please send an up to date CV via the link provided or contact Ruairi McCann, Recruitment Manager at Vickerstock 015267473Even if this position is not right for you, we may have others that are.
