Responsible to: Senior Management Team (SMT) Responsible for: All teams within site Main Purpose of Job:Due to the continued growth in the North West of Ireland, we are currently recruiting for an experienced General Manager to join Connolly Motor Group team.The role: The successful candidate will be required to ensure the team continuously deliver the highest level of satisfaction to internal and external customers. To ensure the company business plan is met via the sales of vehicles, finance and insurance products, parts, and labour hours. To ensure that the margins achieved on the sale of all dealership products are in line with manufacturer standards. To ensure that the team delivers the highest standard of service and that every opportunity is taken to continuously improve working methods and standards. Role Responsibilities:Management Oversees sales by ensuring prospecting and follow up activities are conducted.Ensures stock turn on used cars is adhered to, by review of (and if necessary, revaluing) used cars as they are approaching maximum stock turn days.Liaise with HR with employment relations, recruitment & selection, learning and development, and people agenda queries.Monitors the performance of the management team, using key measures and addressing areas of underperformance.Carries out regular, structured reviews to identify development needs and agree objectives, then coaches their team to continually improve their knowledge and skill application, enabling them to meet their business targets.Regular management reviews with Group Aftersales and Parts Management to include allocation and planning of annual leave and other leave requests.Conducts regular review and update meetings with senior team.Communicates relevant information to the departmental heads and teams.Liaises with Group Marketing Manager to plan and implement advertising and marketing campaigns.Financials Strategically reviews performance and identifies future trends.Agrees and implements departmental budgets and objectives in line with Company and manufacturer guidelines.Develops action plans to achieve each of the departmental budgets.Regularly monitors each department’s performance against the budget, identifying shortfalls and plans to address those shortfalls.Manages Dealership costs by monthly review.Formulates and communicates sales targets to each department.Ensures that the dealership meets/exceeds the parameters in terms of performance and CSI indicators.Analyses accounts on a regular basis, so that adverse trends can be dealt with by the appropriate corrective action.Provides and presents accurate and detailed management accounts to SMT (Senior Management Team) on sales and costs.Analyses Dealership reports and management accounts and makes presentations to the SMT where appropriate.Customer ServiceEnsures that good relationships are maintained and developed with internal and external customers by meeting their requirements and exceeding their expectations.Handles internal and external customer problems, complaints, and difficult situations, where they are escalated, resolving the issue to the mutual satisfaction of all parties involved.Ensure that root causes of problems or difficulties are identified and addressed to prevent re-occurrence.Standards and Regulations Ensures that sufficient safety and security procedures exist and are operated in accordance with the company’s Health and Safety policy.Controls and manages any manufacturer audits as and when required, liaising with Group Aftersales and Parts ManagementEnsures team members comply with appropriate Health & Safety working procedures and wearing of appropriate PPE and safety gear.Skills and Competencies: Strong strategic vision for Connolly Motor GroupLeadership skills to enhance efficiencies within site and team.
