O’Shea, Bramley and Breen Hospital is a modern and progressive practice with an amazing opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team. Our modern hospital has all the essential equipment necessary to provide excellent clinical care to our patients. Our patient load is mostly feline and canine patients with some small furries visiting too. We have in-house Ultrasound, X-Ray, Blood Machines, ECG, Dental, Scope, and laboratory. Situated in the heart of Wexford town we have loads of local sights and amenities like our beautiful beaches, bustling town centre and local attractions. Our hospital team is comprised of 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 Veterinary Nurse and a support team of animal care assistants and receptionists. Our team is very experienced, and we promote a supportive working environment between all our colleagues. We work closely with our local WSPCA and also a local cat neuter charity. With a very generous CPD allowance plus fully funded certificates we actively encourage professional development and as such there is plenty of scope for career progression – both clinical and non-clinical within the larger IVC Evidensia company. The Role This is a position for a Veterinary Nurse within O’Shea, Bramley and Breen Veterinary Hospital. This is a full time, permanent position of 37.5 hours/4.5 days per week, with a shared 1 in 4 weekend clinic rota – a day off in lieu is given for any weekend days worked. There is no OOH or on call within this position. As a Veterinary Nurse, your main duty is to deliver a high standard of nursing care to all patients, assist the veterinary surgeons, liaise with clients regarding inpatient care and carry out nurse clinics. You will have many day-to-day duties and responsibilities which include surgical nursing, anaesthesia and analgesia monitoring, clinic and inpatient management, and laboratory work. We value our veterinary nursing team, and along with actively participating in nursing clinics, you will be involved in performing dentistry and radiographs. You will be working alongside our excellent team of experienced Vets and animal care assistants that will support you in your role. This position would suit a new graduate or a Veterinary nurse looking to develop their own personal career in a lively, friendly practice. Salary for this position is up to €32,000 commensurate with experience plus attractive benefits. There is the option of a relocation allowance if required for the right candidate (T&C’s apply). Applicant Requirements We are looking for a Veterinary Nurse registered or eligible to register with the VCI. New graduates and inexperienced RVNs are encouraged to apply, whom we will work with to develop their skills and interests.
