We are currently looking to appoint a Windows Server Administrator to be based in our Cork or Dublin office. This is a key role in our Digital Team and will help us deliver on our Business and Digital Strategy. As a highly motivated and experienced Server Administrator, you will help maintain the high reliability, security and performance of our servers The successful candidate will have experience with implementing, maintaining, supporting, developing and designing Microsoft-based environments. Responsibilities System management of Windows Servers (including Application servers, File Servers, Web servers etc.) Management of legacy applications when needed Manage Patch & Vulnerability Management for stability and security. Monitor system performance and event logs for both System and Security issues. Administration of nominated business server applications when needed Responsible for minimising system failures and unplanned stoppages through planned maintenance, health checks and ongoing monitoring of systems. Experience in supporting HyperV virtualisation technology & Veeam backup technology. Working with Server hardware and related infrastructure such as – Servers, Out-of-band Management, RAID controllers, RAID sets, Backup systems. Assist in business continuity planning and disaster recovery testing. Liaise and manage relationships with end users and Third-party application suppliers to ensure all systems are secure, stable and operating as expected. Support ISO27001 Information Security Standard Documented system builds / decommissioning procedures and update and/or create technical documentation where necessary. Flexible approach to work and working hours Key requirements Proven expertise in Microsoft OS technologies. Proven experience of server installation, optimization and monitoring. Proven ability in the diagnoses and troubleshooting of Server Operating System errors. Good working knowledge of server and applications interoperability. Good working knowledge of ISO27001 Policy Governance and security Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Broad knowledge of peripheral technologies. Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills. Qualifications Ideally a Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems and 5 years of Server Administration experience Candidates must have an expert understanding of all versions of Windows Server Operating Systems Previous experience leveraging various toolsets for Administration, Performance, Reporting, Backups and monitoring of servers. Candidates should have a strong understanding of technology and experience in applications, operating systems, networks & cloud platforms. Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently. Excellent analytical skills to include excellent computer literacy & comprehensive experience in system interoperability. Excellent collaborative and people skills Excellent written and verbal communication.
