IT Network Design Engineer

Our client, a global healthcare leader, is looking for a IT Network Design Engineer to join their team. This role will cover the NorthWest of the country (Sligo, Donegal, Longford) but will be based in Dublin initially for training purposes.RequirementsAs a IT Network Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:Data center equipment monitoring, maintenance, and improvement.Unbox, inventory, and deploy servers, storage, and other equipment in racks/cabinets in data centers.Cable copper, fiber, and power between servers and end pointsTroubleshoot failed paths and components.Support supplemental onsite data center contractors.Work with capacity planning and BTS to ensure needed growth support.Input all device locations and cable connections into DCIM database if used, apply asset tags, record all device information into DCIM.Resolve incident reports as needed for data center and network support.Perform hardware troubleshooting and component replacement (break/fix).Power management – configure and maintain PDU, complete necessary documentation, and adjust rack power distribution as needed.Maintain cleanliness, organization, and physical appearance, including cable management, of data centers.Assist in managing/enhancing the product lifecycle process.Installations and decommissions (rack and stack, cable management Provide vendor escort and support for hardware or other maintenance issues.Prepare and coordinate all supporting documents related to purchase requisitions.Maintain safety procedures and process in accordance to site safety requirements.Provide backup support and escort services for the Utilities and Facilities system:UPS, Electrical switchgear, and distribution network.Fire protection, detection, and alarm system.Building management system (Building automation system).Facilities and building infrastructure services.Access control and surveillance system.Consumable stock control and procurement of necessary fiber and copper inventories.Liaising with vendors, contractors and statutory boards when required.Managing and coordination of projects assigned by superior.Requirements:3-year+ experience working with Ethernet or fiber cables3-year+ experience working with structured cabling, terminating, or dressing Ethernet cables3-year+ experience working with rack mounted network switches/routers and serversAbility to perform repetitive tasks, stand throughout an 8-hour shift, and lift/move up to 50 lbs. of equipment as needed.Must be available to travel.
