About the jobReporting to the Analytical Science & Technology Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of Analytical Science & Technology Team and you will play an integral role within MSAT team project delivery.You will have responsibilities as a technical and product expert and will work with the Analytical Scientists, Senior Scientists, Team Leaders, our customers and partners in delivering projects in a safe manner and within agreed timelines.MSAT-Analytical Science & Technology are responsible for the analytical transfer, validation and remediation of methods to bring in new products, while also providing analytical expertise to other sites within the network. The department is the first to source and implement innovative technologies for the site. As well as attractive benefits, the team enjoy access to an onsite gym and medical centre that underpin a strong commitment to health and wellbeing.Main responsibilities:Lead, mentor and support a team of Analytical Science & Technology Analysts and Scientists in the delivery of analytical method development, troubleshooting, transfers and validations as well as ALCM activitiesDevelop analytical expertise within the AST departmentOversee the day to day running of the Laboratories and managing the workload of the teamLead troubleshooting activities to ensure timely resolution of issuesReview technical documentation, primarily Transfer and Validation Protocols, Summary Reports, Risk Assessment documents and other Technology Transfer supporting documents, as requested or instructed, for content and quality of the document to be fit for purposeEffective interaction with other departments and project teamsEnsure compliance to the Quality Management System is maintained and its effectiveness monitoredAssist in producing established metrics to monitor department activities and performance measuresEnsure projects are managed in conjunction with all required Sanofi and regulatory requirements (EHS, cGLP, method transfers, environmental etc.)About youExperience: Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry required2 years in a leadership roleDemonstrated performance in leading teams and project deliveryOperational experience of quality laboratories in a fast-moving manufacturing environmentProven track record of prioritising tasks and managing several projects simultaneouslyExperience with mentoring team membersSoft skills: Excellent communication and organisation skillsProblem solving skills for developing creative solutions and meeting objectives are requiredYou will be a highly motivated and self-driven leader of peopleInitiative – able to work in a self-directed manner to see issues through to completionTechnical skills:Strong focus on quality and proven attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent analytical ability, experience with Empower software preferredStrong safety, quality and continuous improvement focus.Fluent English, both written and oral – essentialEducation: High level qualification in Science, MSc or PhD preferredWhat we offerFixed term contract (1 year)A role where you are instrumental to creating best practice and as the organisation grows, you can tooA generous package including flexible benefits, and are committed to helping you have a healthy work-life balance throughout your career with usClearly defined internal development processes and supportive managerial involvements ensure all employees have a robust development plan aligned to their goalsWe have highly subsidised restaurant with free tea and coffeeA newly refurbished gym is available onsite for a small and highly competitive annual membership feeYou will be based in our Waterford site which is accessible from M9Parking available onsiteThis is a full-time role and we support flexible workingIf the description fits your experience and has aroused your interest, we encourage you to apply so we can get in contact with you!Better is out there.
