Title: Control Systems Manager Location: Westmeath Report To: General Manager Full Driving Licence Required Salary: Negotiable DOE Permanent RoleExcellent opportunity for an experienced Control Systems Manager for our Clients Automation site in Westmeath with potential for growth and promotion within the organisation for the successful candidate. The projects require strong management to deliver solutions on time and within budgets. The projects consist of several controls elements, with focus on automation and robotic systems which include significant software development.Responsibilities:Communicate effectively with customers to assure their needs are med while assisting with the development of concepts and proposals for equipment.Manage the design and development of machine control systems to meet customer specifications in accordance with company and industry standards and codes with particular focus on EU safety standards.Source components, materials, hardware, and resources which meet the requirements, deadline, and budget of the project.Manage the integration of controls system with the overall project.Plan, write and troubleshoot, PLC (Siemens, Allen Bradley), HMI, Servo software etc.Develop and integrate robot programs – ABB and RobotStudio.Test, commission and install equipment to the highest standard with travelling required for certain projects.Devise and implement CE safety requirement – Certified Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) is advantageous.Supervise electrical and pneumatic building, field wiring and plumbing to international standards – IE60364, IEC61140, IEC60479 to name a few.Manage the development of PLC and HMI software programs and robot programs.Supervise the integration of servo systems/servo drives, stepper motors, hydraulic pumps etc.Complete all documentation required – Technical Files, CE, and Customer requirements.Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required. Qualifications and Experience: Level 8 qualification in electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics or equivalent.Previous experience managing a team.Experience designing control systems for automation machinery and reviewing and approving control systems which are designed by team members.Excellent understanding of mechanical concepts and designs produced by colleagues.Full driving licence.Proficiency in German is advantageous.
