Within the Engineering Department here in Cardinal Health Tullamore, we focus on delivering excellence in the areas of Project Management, Facility/Utility Services, Technical Maintenance and Engineering Support Services by providing knowledge, expertise, critical thinking, and accountability. Project Engineers are directly involved in the disciplined execution of critical plant projects delivering on our priorities of safety, quality, service, cost, people development and continuous improvement.You will contribute by leading critical plant projects and core project teams in the areas of new process/equipment introduction, automation, product transfers, material change/qualification, product branding, cost reduction, continuous improvement (OpEx), energy and maintenance excellence projects. You will be responsible for successful project execution following a structured stage gated process, meeting all key deliverables and metrics. You will provide expertise on project execution to industry and/or Cardinal Health standards. You will support other projects and initiatives across the plant where required, liaising effectively with internal and external customers. You will participate in departmental and site initiatives designed to drive continuous improvement and individual development. You will generate technical protocols and reports that will support change control deliverables such as process optimization, design verification, stability, packaging and validation qualifications. You will adhere to GMP based Quality Systems requirements for medical devices and medicinal product (e.g. MDD, EU GMP Guidelines Vol IV Part 1 for medicinal product, ISO 13485). You will commit to working within the ethos of the Company Mission, Medical Devices & Supplies Guide to Compliance and Quality Manufacturing and the company guide to business conduct.What we are looking for:You are a dynamic team player and project leader who can work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams. You are experienced in a Project Engineering role within Manufacturing and/or Engineering Project Management functions with the ability to lead and execute high profile projects. Proven experience in delivering projects from conception to completion, resulting in significant cost savings and process improvements. You will be competent in the use of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Techniques. You are innovative, proactive, and organized with excellent attention to detail and quality awareness. Ability to multi-task and to work in a high paced environment with an awareness of continued impact on production and the plant performance. You are a strong communicator and fluent in English, both written and verbal. Experience of medical device industry regulations, manufacturing engineering and the ability to manage self and others to achieve challenging targets is advantageous.Experience:Successfully lead both Local and Global teams to deliver all project requirements associated with cost, time and functionality, ensuring that all KPI targets are achieved.Consistently adhere to project management standard practices in the areas of Initiation, Planning, Execution, Controlling and Closing (PMBOK).Prepare User Requirement Specifications (URS) matching customer needs, Project Charters, Capital Expense Requests (CERs), Project Plans, Factory and Site Acceptance Test Protocols.Ensure all Change Control requirements are satisfied and conduct all business ensuring compliance with appropriate standards.Track and report out on projects using standard identified templates and ensuring all necessary information is available to key stakeholders including the OpEx Leader, Financial Controller and Engineering ManagerFollow all elements of the Corporate Procurement Manuals, ensuring that project files are suitable for audit if required.Use Six Sigma and Lean principles where appropriate to effectively execute projects.Contribute effectively to generation of continuous improvement opportunities which will feed into site OpEx plan for subsequent years.Support other projects and initiatives across the plant where required, liaising effectively with internal and external customers.Required Qualifications:A Level 8 Degree in Engineering or a related discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automation or equivalent).3+ Years’ Experience in an Engineering Role.Desirable ExperienceIdeally Candidates should have formal Project Management Certification (PMP, IPMA, PRINCE2 or equivalent).3+ Years’ Experience in a Project Engineering role within Manufacturing or Engineering Project Management functions with the ability to take on high profile projects.Candidates with other technical qualifications and relevant work experience may also qualify.Broad knowledge of materials and processes applicable to medical device industry.Proven experience in delivering projects from conception to completion, resulting in significant cost savings and process improvements.Medical Device Manufacturing or equivalent regulated industry experience.Competency in the use of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Techniques.Experience with MS Office, MS Project & Minitab.Candidates who are back-to-work, people with disabilities, without a college degree, and Veterans are encouraged to apply.Cardinal Health supports an inclusive workplace that values diversity of thought, experience and background.
