Staff Nurse - Infection Prevention and Control

Key Responsibilities Deliver a high level of evidence-based patient care as a member of the nursing team working to NMBI Scope of Practice. Work together with healthcare professionals and important stakeholders to offer a resource for advice on minimizing or reducing infections linked to medical care. To plan, organize, oversee, and audit adherence to infection control protocols, such as hospital hygiene, isolation protocols, hand hygiene, and other protocols. Be flexible to work in all clinical areas of the hospital as required. Participate in the formulation of and adherence to the hospital's protocol, policies, procedures guidelines, and standard of practices.   Report any incidents as they occur through the correct channels. Collect, analyze, and maintain agreed records and ensure that all records are properly and accurately maintained and disseminated to the appropriate staff. Requirements NMBI Registered General Nurse license in good standing. Must be registered in the general Division of the Register of Nurse maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board Ireland. To have at least 1 year of recent relevant post-registration nursing experience, preferably in an acute hospital setting. 1-3 years of post-qualification experience. Possess well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills, proven clinical ability, risk management, clinical audit, and excellent communication skills.
