Ireland. The facility in Shannon is approaching 50 years on site and is a significant site in the manufacture and supply of edge welded metal bellows mechanical seals, which are distributed across the world.Reporting to the Regional Quality Manager, with a dotted line reporting to Regional HSE Manager, the person appointed will be a member of the Site Leadership Team and be responsible to (a) lead all aspects of Quality, Health & Safety, and Environment at John Crane Shannon (b) ensure compliance with company policy, legal and statutory regulations, and (c) ensure conformance to customer product requirements and specifications.This role will provide the successful candidate with exposure to all areas of the organisation. Duties & Responsibilities Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the John Crane QHSE guidelines and practices within John Crane Shannon, aligned with overall business goals.Guide and promote safe work performance by developing proactive HSE systems, policies, and procedures; develop safety and environmental campaigns, communications, and recognitions in line with Division/Regional strategies.Assess conformance to legal and regulatory compliance requirements, evaluate current site QHSE programs and activities and work with all relevant employees to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Lead and support all site QHSE activities and development of best practices.Ensure compliance with customer QHSE requirements and industry standards, including data management for contractor databases where required.Manage all aspects of customer complaints, from initiation to closure, including CAPAs, communications and formal reports.Determine QHSE training requirements and aid specific sites and departments in completing training. Lead, where applicable, training for all employees.Support the integration of QHSE lessons learned from global systems and processes as applicable.Generate / utilise QHSE performance metrics to assess performance progress and utilise key metrics and scorecard, including both global and local KPIs, to guide improvement efforts.Manage all aspects of Risk Assessments for existing, changed and new manufacturing processes.Investigate and lead corrective and preventive actions of all QHSE incidents. Report, monitor, and lead correction of quality,, health, safety, and environmental concerns.Ensure all QHSE reporting is completed, including monthly reporting, customer requalification forms, and other requested information.Conduct coaching, mentoring, and development of assigned personnel, to achieve continuous improvement in resource efficiency and effectiveness.Mentor site quality and operational teams on Root Cause Analysis and effective CAPA processesEnsure maintaining of ISO 9001 Quality Management System Certification, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certifications and ISO 45001 Safety Management System Certifications is maintained and enhanced in conjunction with the Global QHSE Team.Review and improve inspection procedures & test methods best suited for the efficient quality assurance of company products and COPQ reduction.Use and apply Lean / Six Sigma methodologies including Value Stream Mapping, Capability Analysis, Control Plans, Kaizen, 5S, 8D & 5 why’s, Root Cause analysis, VOC, QFD, Error Proofing, FMEA, Cause and Effect Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, etc.Continually improve the QHSE performance of the John Crane Ireland facility.Conduct Internal and Supplier Management Systems Auditing.Support capital expenditure requests and business case inputs for all projects. Review all John Crane Shannon CAPEX EHS forms and input same for review by Global HSE Regional Manager.Generate / utilise HSE performance metrics to measure performance progress and to evaluate HSE&S loss prevention program effectiveness. The Individual Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Level 8 qualification in Quality, Engineering, Science or Health & Safety and/or Environmental subject, or equivalent.Lean / Six Sigma Qualification, either Green or Black Belt is desirable.At least 5 years’ manufacturing experience in a Quality or HSE role in a similar industryGood evidence of delivering results in Quality or HSE and continuous improvement initiatives, ideally in an Engineering and/or Manufacturing environment.Proven ability to lead people and to influence cross-functional project workers. Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.9001/14001/45001 Lead Auditor Qualification is desirable.Motivated self-starter with the determination and drive to succeed.Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organisation and to provide support, guidance and training to managers and colleagues.Ability to work to deadlines with good prioritization, planning and organisational skills.Chartered Membership (or working towards) IOSH, or equivalent. (Equivalence by experience may be considered.) And/ or have NEBOSH General Certificate/Diploma or equivalent.
