Overview:We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Controls Engineer to join our team. Your skills will be vital in providing leadership on projects and delivering best in class delivery for various projects.Key Responsibilities: Support Modular’s commercial team in preparing project proposals.Critically analyse customer requirements to develop detailed software development requirements.Work closely with hardware and software vendors to ensure Modular are integrating the latest technologies into our designs.Design, develop and test software to deliver on our customer requirements.Support and mentor junior team members.Project ownership from management, communication, execution & delivery of allocated projects, reporting back on project progress (technical issues / project updates) as required.Lead meetings both internally and with our customers.Support continuous improvement within the software department.Support department goals and objectives.Some travel required will be required. Qualifications & Experience: 5+ years post qualification experience in a similar role or related role.L8 Degree in Software development or related discipline.Demonstrated leadership in project management.Proficiency in task estimation and software development project planning.Experience in software design for PLCs, Robotic, HMI and or Vision System applications.Knowledge of test-driven software development.Experience of software development for PLCs, Robotic, HMI, Vision System and or Data Management applications.Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to junior team members.Full Clean Driver’s License is required. Advantage: Programming experience in any of the following IDEs, AB Studio 5000, ABB RobotStudio, KUKA WorkVisual, Fanuc RoboGuide, AB FactoryTalk View Studio Cognex Insight.Commissioning and debug of automated systems.Commissioning and debug of communication network architectures.Machine Systems Design.Knowledge of the stages of a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).Knowledge and/or experience of working with FDA regulated industries such as Medical Device and Pharmaceutical.Knowledge of GAMP software development life cycle.Knowledge and/or experience in 21 CFR Part 11 implementation.
