About The Role Duties and Responsibilities of the Role: Assist in the coordination of conferences, banquets, and events from planning stages to execution. Work closely with the Conference and Banqueting Manager to ensure all client requirements are met. Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff involved in conferences and banquets, including servers, event coordinators, and support staff. Provide guidance and support to ensure staff performs their duties effectively. Oversee the setup of event spaces, ensuring proper arrangement according to event type and client preferences. Coordinate logistical aspects, such as seating arrangements, equipment setup, and signage. Interact with clients and guests to address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a positive experience. Monitor the quality-of-service delivery and take corrective actions as needed. Train new staff members on conference and banqueting procedures, service standards, and customer interaction. Conduct ongoing training sessions to enhance the skills of existing staff. Ensure that events meet or exceed established quality standards. Conduct inspections to ensure proper setup, cleanliness, and adherence to safety regulations. Maintain effective communication with the Conference and Banqueting Manager, staff, and other departments. Relay important information to staff and address any issues promptly. Requirements for the role: Previous experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or events industry. Knowledge of event planning and banqueting procedures. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to events. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
