Position Details Posting Date: April 22, 2024Position Title: Server/Helper – Dish RoomStarting Date: ASAPReports To: Director of Dining ServicesSalary Range: Per FSS Agreement Building: ElementaryHours: 10:30 – 1:30 School Days Monday – FridayJob Overview:Farwell Area Schools strive for a clean, safe, and healthy dining environment for our students and staff. We are looking for a self-motivated Server/Helper that is able to work well with others, to join the Food Service Team. Responsibilities and Duties: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service-oriented method.Set up dish machine and pot-pan areas, complete dish machine logWash trays, dishes, pots and pans during and after meal serviceOrder cleaning supplies as needed.May be required to replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area.Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and presentable manner as guided by the health department.Attends training and development classes and work site meetings as required by the Director of Dining Services and the District Administrators.Follows safety and sanitation guidelines established by the District and government agencies.Put all grocery deliveries away following FIFO methodAssists with trash removalPerforms miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Represents company in courteous, efficient, and friendly manner with all customer, student, staff, and employee interactions.Additional duties may be assigned. Qualifications: Knowledge of food handling, preparation, and production.Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment.Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.Ability to perform basic math functions required in recipe extensions and pan yields.Ability to squat, twist, bend, and kneel, and lift while performing tasks. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to; stand, walk, used hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms above head, taste, or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch, bend, and twist. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and must be able to lift up to 20 pounds over their head.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold.The employee frequently has hands in hot, soapy water and/or cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.Standard kitchen equipment is used as needed to perform job assignments. Equipment used includes, but is not limited to braiser, steamer, fryer, oven, stove, food warmer, proofer, slicer, assorted cutlery, small wares and food thermometers.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Personal Appearance: Maintains a professional appearance at all times, clean and well groomed in accordance with company standards. Hair must look professional and neatly kept at all times. Hair must be covered bay a hairnet or hat that has been approved by supervisor.Fingernails must be kept clean, short, and neatly trimmed.Work clothes must be kept clean. Shorts, tank tops, tube topes, sweat suits, warm up suits and sandals are not permitted. No tears or holes in clothing allowed. Cotton or cotton blend slacks are recommended.Non-canvas, slip resistant shoes with a closed toe are to be worn at all times.Jewelry is to be kept to a minimum. Clip on or dangling jewelry is not permitted.
