Job DescriptionProduction Shift Manager (Dairy) - County CorkRef No: AM18212County Cork, Republic of IrelandCompetitive salary Production Shift Manager (Dairy) - County Cork.In this role you will manage a team of people and ensure that all shift duties are performed correctly. This means holding reporting team members accountable to meet the specified standards. You also need a high level of adaptability and willingness to multi-task, while responding to emerging issues and challenges in all areas of the manufacturing process, whether in relation to technical areas or in relation to people management. Success also requires positive, pro-active teamwork with Shift Manager colleagues to share information, initiatives and ensure collaboration across and between shifts. The goal is to ensure that the shift delivers product of maximum quality in a safe and cost-conscious manner.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead the operator team working on the shift, ensuring that the production processes run safely, reliably, and efficiently.· Ensure the production plan is met, consistently producing quality product for customers.· Create a shift schedule, assign duties, and monitor performance, ensuring standards are met or exceeded.· Coach operators on an ongoing basis and train new operators on how to safely use equipment and follow procedures.· Evaluate and provide feedback to operators on their performance, both formally at designated intervals and informally ‘in real time’, as appropriate.· Proactively engage with Maintenance, Quality, and other functions.· Encourage culture and usage of CI tools.· Lead investigation, resolution and reporting related to customer complaints· Provide comprehensive end-of-shift Handover Report that facilitates immediate and urgent follow-up to specific issues as required.· Attend production-related meetings to share information, develop plans, and discuss issues in a proactive, solution-focused way.· Lead projects, as required.· Demonstrate a sense of urgency, make decisions, and take initiative as required in order to continuously enhance the standards and output of the shiftInterested applicants should have:• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or Process Engineering• Operations Management experience within a complex high-volume food manufacturing plant desirable• Keen interest in developing people and their skills (both technical and interpersonal)• Pro-active, self-motivated, accountable • Sound problem-solving skills • Strong communication, influencing and teamwork skills• Experience of GMP, Hygiene and Health & Safety requirements.
