It is home to our Actuarial, Audit, Compliance, Finance, IT, Legal, Operations, Risk and Treasury Teams. Role Value Proposition: This is a role in Global Actuarial Modeling (GAM) for the EMEA Region. GAM is a part of Actuarial Resources which sits within Finance Management Group (FMG). GAM is responsible for delivering robust and scalable actuarial modeling solutions in accordance with enterprise & regional objectives. GAM plays a crucial role in generating accurate and timely numbers which become part of our overall financials. These financials are submitted to various external and internal stakeholders like the SEC in the US, the Central Bank of Ireland, other local regulators, senior management, and MetLifes board. Our financial results are key to measuring performance against targets and company strategy, as well as in shaping the strategy for the future. This role is responsible for supporting the development, testing, documentation and running of MetLifes EMEA Actuarial models. The role will have exposure to Solvency II, IFRS17, USGAAP, ORSA and VNB bases. The role will primarily involve the development and management of MetLifes EMEA Prophet models, with some potential exposure to Pathwise and Polysystems models. This is a key role that will involve working with global teams from different functions such as EMEA Actuarial, IT, and Finance. Key Responsibilities: Ensure the successful production of actuarial modeling results as part of the regular valuation cycle Implement developments to MetLifes EMEA actuarial models in line with specified coding standards Test developments to ensure the models are accurate, robust and valid Document the development and testing efforts to appropriately communicate the changes to stakeholders Collaborate and co-ordinate with global teams to ensure the entire modeling process works as expected Support GAM priorities to deliver on special projects such as IFRS17 or LDTI builds Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: Making progress through Actuarial exams Minimum of 2 years experience in actuarial work Excellent communication skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Keen interest in actuarial modeling and programming Preferred Business Experience and Technical Skills: Prior experience with actuarial modeling software such as Prophet, Pathwise or Polysystems Programming experience in Python or VBA Understanding of actuarial modeling best practices and methodologies Note:While experience with actuarial modeling software is a plus, this role is designed for someone with a strong quantitative background and a desire to develop their coding skills in an actuarial context.
