The Opportunity We are now recruiting for a Capital Modelling Actuary to join our Reserving & Capital Team, based in Dublin 4. Reporting to the Head of Reserving & Capital, you will work alongside of both qualified and trainee actuaries who continue to achieve the highest standard of collaboration, in a hybrid working model. As an Actuary in this multi-disciplinary team you will gain exposure to many elements of the Actuarial Function, working closely with colleagues in Reserving, Risk, Finance, Pricing and Underwriting, both at home and abroad. The purpose of this role is to: manage and calibrate the local insurance risk components of Allianz Ireland’s Internal Model Identify and support the implementation of capital optimisations Perform suitability assessments required as per Solvency II regulations for internal models Support the capital management and planning process of the company. The role requires both strong technical and communication skills and the ability to work closely with senior management to maintain a strong capital position, supporting the overall business strategy of the company. Role Responsibilities Calibrate and document the local insurance risk components of Allianz Irelands’ Internal Model Lead and manage the calibration process across the team, working closely together with local capital modelling actuaries, risk colleagues and Allianz Group counterparts Continuously enhance data and actuarial models/ calibration techniques resulting in capital and process efficiencies Identify potential capital optimisations, working with Risk and Finance to implement Communicate and present risk capital updates to management in various forums such as the Parameter and Assumptions Approval Committee Support the annual capital planning process in line with the company’s risk appetite and business strategy Perform Solvency II capital management activities such as reinsurance program testing and scenario analysis for the company’s ORSA process) Coordinate the independent model validation process for insurance risk from a local entity perspective and be the key counterpart for Group validation Conduct other Solvency II internal model governance activities such as local suitability assessments in accordance with the Allianz Internal Model governance framework Create and sustain strong working relationships with all internal and Allianz SE Group stakeholders Participate in international group projects, where applicable Skills & Experience Requirements Essential Qualified Actuary with 3-5 years’ experience in an Actuarial Role In-depth knowledge of Solvency II Demonstrated experience in (risk) capital modelling Advanced proficiency in MS Excel Demonstrated experience in communicating with (non-)technical colleagues and excellent report writing skills Desirable Competent in using Igloo (or other Monte Carlo software), ResQ and SQL Previous actuarial experience in a non-life (re)insurer, ideally within an Internal Model background Extensive knowledge of the Irish non-life insurance market Regulatory Notice Appointment to this role will be subject to the requirements provided for by the Central Bank of Ireland.
