Our client, a medical device engineering company is seeking to recruit a Health and Safety Specialist to join their team in Sligo on a part-time, permanent contract. Responsibilities:As a Health and Safety Specialist, you will: Liaise with staff to ensure compliance with current H&S statutory requirements and company procedures.Management of Health and Safety documentation, including training records, machinery certification, and other statutory H&S records.Delivering continual improvement on current safety practices.Provide advice, guidance, and instruction in all health & safety matters to management, safety representatives, and employees (including sub-contractors where appropriate).Conduct regular inspections and site audits, reporting findings to site and company management. Strict follow-up is required to ensure that corrective actions are dealt with immediately.Investigate, record, and report accidents, incidents, and near-misses promptly, ensuring any corrective actions are implemented without delay.Managing and making recommendations for Personal Protective Equipment required for all Employees.Conduct biannual site evacuation drills and complete risk assessments on equipment. Qualifications:Hold a relevant Health & Safety Qualification/Degree.Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation, Standards, and Best Practice.Previous experience in a Health & Safety role in the manufacturing industry.
