What's the opportunity? Join the Intercom Finance team as the R&D Finance Manager. This is a critical role at Intercom that will give deep exposure to R&D Leadership and working teams. You will have 2 primary responsibilities: 1] Help understand, communicate and advise on how Intercom allocates capital across our technical investments and 2] Identify and execute on opportunities to optimize investments in support of our strategy.In this role, you will demonstrate your analytical horsepower and critical thinking abilities to better inform investment decisions, allocation of resources and headcount, as well as assisting in R&D commercial negotiations.You are sharp, proactive, and use your executive presence to help influence and cross-functional efforts to drive Intercom’s value.This is an amazing opportunity to join a high paced FP&A organization at an exciting company that is at the vanguard of AI and Customer Service.What will I be doing? Work as a key business partner across R&D functions to help them make tradeoffs and decisions around spending and investmentThrough deep analytics and critical thinking help establish FP&A as an insights powerhouse with our business partnersActively identify and pursue opportunities to optimize expenses through activities such as benchmarking or vendor contract negotiationsImprove FP&A data, models and processes to drive forecasting accuracy and continually reduce the margin of errorHelp mature and the FP&A function to become proactive, predictive and insight oriented, enabling our business leaders to make strategic decisions and grow our business. What skills do I need? 8+ years of relevant experience in FP&A including Finance Business Partner experienceAnnual planning experience, preferably at a high-tech or enterprise software companyExperience in acting as Finance business partner to C-level executivesComfortable with writing Executive and Board quality slide decksComfortable with data and ambiguityAble to understand complex business drivers, produce high-quality analytics, develop insights and communicate clearly and succinctly to a different audiencesHighly adept in Google Sheets, Excel and Google Slides Benefits We are a well treated bunch, with awesome benefits!
