Are you our next Senior Solicitor within our Data Privacy/GDPR department? Location: Dublin, as part of our hybrid working model. Grade: Associate Director Contract type: Permanent A snapshot of your peer group: Qualified solicitor or barrister, admitted to practice law in Ireland, with a minimum of 3-5 years PQE in GDPR/Data Privacy Law. Strong knowledge of GDPR and other data protection laws and regulations. Excellent legal research and analysis skills. Effective communication and negotiation skills. Experience in managing and advising clients in data protection matters. Litigation experience related to data privacy is a plus. Professional certifications related to data protection (e.g., CIPP, CIPM) are desirable but not mandatory. Your responsibilities and achievements will evolve as you enhance your career with us. Here is what you can initially expect: Provide expert legal counsel to clients on a wide range of GDPR and Data Privacy matters, including data protection compliance, data breach response, and privacy impact assessments. Monitor changes in data protection laws and regulations and ensure clients' compliance with GDPR and other relevant data protection laws. Review, draft, and negotiate data processing agreements, privacy policies, and other legal documents related to data protection and privacy. Lead and coordinate responses to data breaches, including notifications to regulatory authorities and affected individuals, and help clients mitigate potential legal risks. Conduct and review Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) to identify and mitigate privacy risks in data processing activities. Provide training and advice to clients on data protection best practices, policies, and procedures. Assist in handling data privacy-related litigation and disputes as needed. Collaborate with other legal professionals and departments within the firm to provide comprehensive legal solutions to clients.
