Purchasing Manager Our Client in the Monaghan area have a requirement for a Purchasing Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. Call Conor O ' Hagan for more details Excellent Salary available depending on experience The Role: The Purchasing is responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, tracking metrics to reduce expenses, negotiating deals, and managing vendors / suppliers . They will also drive sustainability initiatives in-house as well as with suppliers. You will be responsible for the following areas and activities: Developing, leading and executing purchasing strategies Tracking and reporting KPIs in order to reduce expenses, improve effectiveness and mitigate risks. Crafting negotiation strategies and closing deals with optimal terms for AMF and RM Forecast key prices and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power. Perform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking. Source and partner with reliable vendors / suppliers. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand. Coordination of Origin Green sustainability programme within the business Keep up to date with current Irish/EU packaging legislation. Liaise with packaging suppliers on sustainability. Maintain Valpak portal Submit biannually to Repak Lead and inspire a team that consists of Goods Inwards personnel and a Stock Controller The Person: It is anticipated that the successful candidate will come from a similar background and will be looking for the next challenge in their career. Self-starting and motivated, applicants will also need to satisfy the following: Criteria: Proven experience in a similar role Experience of managing a team. Strong written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management Interest in market dynamics along with business sense (retail a must) Good control of negotiations and networking Great ability to gather and analyse data, working well with figures, especially in an MS Excel environment. Excellent project management and strong organisational skills and a proven ability to balance multiple projects and competing priorities. Solid judgment along with decision making skills.
