Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor - Tipperary

Overview We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our site-based team in Tipperary. With excellent people skills, you have a proven ability to work in partnership at all levels. The role will focus on the pharma/biopharma sector. The successful candidate will be equally capable of working independently or as part of a larger team and will report directly to the managing surveyor. With high levels of commitment, your responsibilities will include ownership of M&E packages, and interfacing with clients, vendors, client project management and other disciplines ensuring the highest level of service is provided. Responsibilities Pre-Contract responsibilities would include: Preparing capital cost estimates Advice on building economics Producing lifecycle cost estimates Advice on tendering procedures and contract arrangements Drafting of contract packages including advice on amendments to standard forms Prepare pricing documents for tender packages During the tendering phase responsibilities would include: Providing advice on tendering procedures Draft instructions to tenderers Development of tender evaluation criteria Drafting of PQQ questionnaires Handling queries during tender period Commercial evaluation of all tender submissions Negotiation with tenderers Post Contract duties would include: Valuing progress on site for interim certificates Ascertainment of amounts due to contractors for price variation Valuing proposed instructions Drafting responses to contractors’ correspondence Determination of amounts of claims Expediting contractors’ insurances, bonds and collateral warranties; and valuating contractors’ final accounts Experience of Mechanical & Electrical QS activities is essential. Qualifications Quantity Surveying Degree required Mechancial and or Electrical QS experience necessary Chartered (or close to Chartership) with SCSI. Minimum of 8+ year experience in a consultant environment carrying out pre and post contract duties Excellent organizational skills with an ability to produce accurate work to project deadlines
