As a Freight Forwarder, you will play a vital role in supporting the Ocean Supervisor in overseeing ocean freight operations. You will assist in coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and liaising with clients, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for logistics to gain valuable experience in the freight forwarding industry. Responsibilities: * Assist the Ocean Supervisor in coordinating ocean freight shipments, including booking cargo with carriers and negotiating rates. * Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, export declarations, and certificates of origin. * Communicate with clients to gather shipment details, provide updates on shipment status, and address any inquiries or concerns. * Liaise with carriers, customs brokers, and other service providers to ensure smooth and timely movement of freight. * Track and monitor shipments throughout the transportation process, proactively addressing any delays or issues that may arise. * Assist in resolving discrepancies or discrepancies in documentation, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations. * Maintain accurate records of shipment details, documentation, and communication with clients and vendors. * Support the Ocean Supervisor in evaluating carrier performance, analyzing shipping trends, and identifying opportunities for process improvement. * Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in ocean freight forwarding. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and customer service, to ensure seamless execution of freight forwarding operations. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred. * Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or international shipping is advantageous. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. * Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. * Knowledge of international shipping regulations, INCO terms, and customs procedures is desirable. * Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules as needed. * Commitment to upholding high standards of professionalism, integrity, and customer service
