My client are a renowned food production company based in Monaghan, known for delivering high-quality products across the industry. They are seeking an experienced and driven Technical Manager to lead their technical team, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance. Responsibilities: Lead and manage the technical department, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of food safety, quality, and legal compliance. Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of food safety systems (HACCP, BRC, and customer standards). Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements, customer standards, and internal quality policies. Manage third-party audits and certifications, including BRC and other relevant quality standards. Monitor and assess product specifications, ensuring they are up-to-date and meet customer and legal requirements. Develop and implement food safety plans, including hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP). Identify risks and opportunities for improvement within the production processes and lead initiatives to mitigate risks and enhance food safety protocols. Liaise with suppliers to ensure raw materials meet the companys technical and quality standards. Act as the primary point of contact for customer technical queries, audits, and product specifications, ensuring all client requirements are met. Lead, motivate, and develop the technical and quality assurance teams, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to perform at the highest level. Provide ongoing training on quality, safety, and regulatory standards across the company. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the technical department to increase product quality and operational efficiency. Review and update internal procedures, policies, and documentation to reflect industry developments and changes in legislation. Prepare detailed technical reports, including trend analysis and KPI performance, for senior management and external stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of all technical activities, audits, and inspections, ensuring that all documentation is compliant with regulatory standards. Requirements: A proven track record in a senior technical or quality management role within the food production industry. A degree in food science, microbiology, or a related field, with in-depth knowledge of HACCP, BRC, and other food safety standards. Strong leadership and people management experience, with the ability to inspire and develop technical teams. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to managing food safety and quality issues. Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring full compliance with all technical and quality standards.
