Purpose: Support the business in the definition and delivery of the technical requirements and solutions to meet the business outcomes or strategy. What you will be doing: Work closely with the business to define technical requirements to support and deliver on the business objectives. You will act as a bridge between the business and technical teams to ensure that the design of solutions ultimately delivers the expected business outcome.Responsible for converting business requirements into an architecture and design that will become the blueprint for the solution being created. This role also includes the definition of standards, best practices and principles to be applied and ensuring solutions are designed in alignment with these. You will also support the business in the definition of the technical vision to meet the current and future business strategy. A strong technical background is required, together with a clear focus on business goals and product objectives. What qualities you will bring: Understand how technology can be used to solve a given business problem Understand the problems we are helping our customers overcome Work with the business to define, design and estimate solutions Prepare guidance, requirements, and high-level design documentation and ensure that the end product is aligned to the business strategy and overall enterprise architecture standards Guide development teams on the decisions made and the reasons for these Participate in collaborative architectural discussions Define the overall technical vision and creation of architectural designs for a particular solution Work closely with both business and technology teams to ensure solutions are in line with our technology strategy Communication Skills: Software engineering literacy and communication skills Strong customer focus and ability to think about the impact of actions on the customer Ability to present technical concepts and specific solutions to internal teams in a clear, concise and easily understood manner Excellent active listening skills that enable you to understand the goals and challenges to craft meaningful solutions Good interpersonal and facilitation skills: experienced in stakeholder management across different levels from working level to senior management. Technical Expertise: 8+ years of experience working in technology Payment industry knowledge & experience Avid technologist, with expertise in designing software solutions Capable of understanding and solving complex technical concepts Demonstrated collaboration skills along with the ability to influence without authority Knowledge of key architecture principles and design patterns Experience evaluating existing application design and making recommendations for enhancing applications to leverage technology and services Working experience with modern Agile development and delivery methodologies as well as traditional Waterfall practices Preferred Qualities Detail oriented Cautious Consistent Sense of craftsmanship Ability to manage a project Motivated self-starter Approachable and willing to offer helpful solutions Ability to search relentlessly for better solutions Must handle constructive feedback well Global Payments Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
