This position can be based in Bray in Republic of Ireland or Ayr in Scotland.This person is responsible for overseeing the logistics operations of Neogen’s third-party logistics providers. These providers play a pivotal role in managing the movement of goods and ensuring efficient supply chain operations. You will possess a deep understanding of logistics processes, industry best practices, and the ability to navigate the complexities of supply chain management.Neogen’s 3PL Manager will act as a bridge between Neogen and the 3PL provider, ensuring seamless communication, collaboration, and coordination. You will work closely with our Internal Logistics Team, develop tailored logistics solutions, and implement strategies to optimize supply chain performance. Acting as a central point of contact for all parties involved you will facilitate the smooth flow of information, goods, and services.Key duties include:Logistics Planning and Coordination:Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation, warehousing, and distribution.Coordinate and oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations.Vendor and Partner Management:Establish and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers.Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements with logistics partners.Performance Monitoring and Improvement:Monitor and evaluate the performance of logistics partners and vendors.Analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement improvement initiatives.Oversee inventory levels and ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.Manage warehouse operations to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment.Cost Management and Budgeting:Develop and manage the logistics budget, aiming to reduce costs while maintaining service quality.Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction strategies.Customer Service and Support:Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing efficient logistics services.Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to logistics operations.Compliance and Risk Management:Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.Identify potential risks in the supply chain and implement risk mitigation strategies.Team Leadership and Development:Lead, mentor, and develop logistics and supply chain teams.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Reporting and Documentation:Prepare regular reports on logistics performance and provide insights for strategic decision-making.Maintain accurate documentation related to logistics operations and contracts.Knowledge, skills and experience required includes:A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.Professional Certifications in supply chain management are beneficial.Significant prior experience in managing third-party logistics for a multi-national organisation is essential.Please press Apply now in order to submit your application.#LI-RemoteCome Be Part Of A Mission that Matters!From inside the farm gate to our dinner plates, Neogen protects the world’s food supply.
