Laboratory Analyst (Microbiology) Johnstown, Naas, Co Kildare The Organisation Established in 1983, our client is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to ensuring the wellbeing of Irelands horse population through the provision of high-quality laboratory services to diagnose, manage and prevent disease in horses. They also provide a wide of laboratory services to the agriculture, food and other sectors. Details of all accredited testing is available on the INAB website. Our client is committed to delivering a world-class service to their clientele of over 600 veterinary practices and their centre is ISO 17025 Accredited since 2004 and is recognised as such by INAB. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Microbiology Laboratory Analyst to join them on a full-time basis, working 09.00 17.00, Monday to Friday. The Role As a Laboratory Analyst, you will support the day-to-day operations of our clients laboratories diagnostic and commercial microbiological analyses. Specifically, you will be involved in sample preparation, processing, testing and reporting of results, as directed by the Laboratory Head. Operating with an excellent customer focus, you will achieve deadlines and maintain high standards to ensure accuracy and consistent results. About You To join our client as a Laboratory Analyst, you will need: - At least two years experience in a diagnostic, food or industrial microbiology laboratory - A bachelors (BSc) degree in Microbiology or a related discipline with a strong emphasis on microbiology Experience in molecular microbiological methods would be beneficial to your application, as would experience in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory. Knowledge and experience of quality assurance would also be desirable, as would experience with LIMS.
