<p><strong>Overview of the Post:</strong></p>
<p>To work as a member of the inter-disciplinary team providing services to children and families within the region. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a Speech & Language Therapy service to include assessment diagnostics and intervention and ongoing service delivery to children with a range of disabilities. Services are provided to children aged 0 – 18 years with physical, sensory, learning disabilities, developmental delay and autism.</p>

<p><strong>The successful candidate will have</strong></p>
<p><strong><em>Essential Criteria:</em></strong></p>
<p>· Be registered, or be eligible for registration, as a Speech & Language Therapist by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU (<a href="https://www.coru.ie/" target="_self">https://www.coru.ie/</a>)</p>
<p><strong>And</strong></p>
<p>· Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office</p>
<p><strong>And</strong></p>
<p>· Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Speech & Language Therapist Register maintained by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU <strong>before a contract of employment can be issued.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Annual Registration:</strong></p>
<p>· On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Speech & Language Therapists Register maintained by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU</p>
<p><strong>And</strong></p>
<p>· Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland</p>
<p>· Be eligible to work in the state</p>
<p>· Valid driving licence for within the state / jurisdiction with access to own transport in order to deliver services across a large geographical area</p>

<p><strong><em>Desirable Criteria:</em></strong></p>
<p>· 6 months experience working with children with disabilities and complex needs</p>
<p>· Postgraduate experience and/or training working with children with Feeding, Eating, Drinking & Swallowing (FEDS) needs.</p>
<p>· Experience in conducting Assessment of Need assessments</p>
<p>· Experience in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).</p>
<p>· Experience in working with children on the Autism Spectrum</p>
<p>· Experience of working with children with disabilities.</p>
<p>· Pediatric Feeding, Eating, Drinking and Swallowing (FEDS) Qualification</p>
