Job Title: Person in Charge (PIC) Responsible to: Regional Director       The Orchard Care Group is a wholly Irish owned company dedicated to providing the best possible care, supports and outcomes for children, young people, and adults in Ireland across a range of settings and locations, in fostering, disability and mainstream residential services.  The Group brings together three leading brands in Irish social care - Orchard Residential, Orchard Community Care and Orchard Fostering.     We are delighted to announce we are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to be part of a new project involving working with displaced children and young people who are separated from their families and place of origin, seeking asylum, and preparing them for an onward placement. The residential home is located in Virginia, Co. Cavan. The focus of the therapeutic programme will be utilising the Trauma Informed Model of Care, with particular emphasis on building secure and trusting relationships with the children and young people and also incorporating a positive Psychology approach, which is strengths orientated.    This role is to ensure that the delivery of Orchard Residential Care is carried out to the highest standards that meet both professional and business requirements. This post is to manage the Children's home to deliver a high quality, integrated approach that enables young people placed in Orchard Residential Care to achieve positive outcomes.  This post requires you to work proactively with the Regional Director to contribute to the optimum delivery and development of Orchard Residential Care. You will be required to promote a culture within Orchard Residential Care and all aspects of its work that is respectful, non-discriminatory and embracing of diversity. This post requires a flexible approach to working hours, primarily to ensure the safety and well-being of young people and staff.  The post holder is required to lead and participate in the On-Call support system.  A summary of the role is provided, but is not exhaustive. A full job description is available by emailing careers@orchardcare.ie   Candidate Requirement A recognised Level 8 Social Care qualification. In cases where level 7 Social Care has been achieved, this must be accompanied with a qualification in management. In cases where Social Care is not your primary qualification but you hold CORU registration, you will need 4 years direct residential experience and evidence of registration to CORU. Three years' direct experience of working in residential childcare, and/or managing services to vulnerable children and young people. Excellent communication and report writing skills. Proficient IT skills and understanding of utilising word, adobe, excel etc. Full clean drivers licence which has been held for more than one year.
