Health & Safety Advisor Irish & UK Manufacturing business Full time Permanent & Hybrid set up Facilities commutable from counties Cavan, Louth & Meath Job Overview Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety, as the Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for risk assessment, training programmes, preparation of communications and tool box talks, incident reporting & investigation, reporting and site audits to maintain a safe and secure work environment, supporting the H&S programme. More about what you will do: Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop effective strategies for risk mitigation. Training: Develop and deliver comprehensive health and safety training programmes for employees, contractors, and visitors, ensuring awareness and adherence to safety protocols. Incident Management: Investigate and report on workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant health and safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance. Safety Policies: Develop, implement, and update health and safety policies and procedures, fostering a culture of safety throughout the organisation. Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, including evacuation plans and first aid protocols. What we need from you: - Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field (or equivalent experience). - Minimum 3 years relevant experience as a Health and Safety Advisor in a manufacturing environment - Experience in preparing and implementing risk assessments and associated control procedures - Experience of health and safety management systems - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and engage employees at all levels. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
