<p><strong>Senior Physiotherapists in the following clinical areas:</strong></p> <p><strong>Stroke (1 WTE) / Respiratory (1 WTE) / Rehabilitation (0.5 WTE)</strong></p> <p></p> <p><strong>Naas General Hospital (NGH)</strong></p> <p>There is currently <strong>three permanent position </strong>available located in<strong> Physiotherapy Department, Naas General Hospital</strong>, Naas, Co Kildare in the following areas:</p> <p></p> <p><strong>1 WTE Stroke:</strong> The post will provide physiotherapy services for stroke and traumatic brain injury (TBI), patients in the acute wards in NGH (and neurology OPD as service demands require). The successful staff member will work in collaboration with other staff within the neurology service, which would allow for staff rotation across in patient services and OPD services (as service demands require)</p> <p><strong>1 WTE Respiratory: </strong>This post will lead and coordinate the Physiotherapy services for the Respiratory Service in NGH.</p> <p></p> <p><strong>0.5 WTE Rehabilitation: </strong>The post will provide physiotherapy services in the in patient general medicine &amp; rehabilitation services. The successful staff member will work in collaboration with other staff within the in patient rehabilitation service (Day Hospital, Neurology Service and Fraility Intervention Team in ED)</p> <p></p> <p><strong>A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign in Naas General Hospital from which current and future, permanent and specificed purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.</strong></p> <p></p> <p><strong>Informal Enquiries</strong></p> <p>Emma McGrane</p> <p>Physiotherapy Manager</p> <p>Naas General Hospital</p> <p>045849507 / Emma.mcgrane@hse.ie</p> <p></p> <p><strong>Purpose of the Post</strong></p> <p><strong>Stroke:</strong></p> <ul> <li>In conjunction with other team members the senior physiotherapist will lead, coordinate and deliver a high quality physiotherapy service for stroke andTBI patients in the acute wards in NGH and OPD (as service demands require) in accordance with the mission, values and strategic plan of the Organisation.</li> <li>Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge from the service with appropriate self-management and signposting.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Respiratory Care</strong></p> <ul> <li>To lead and coordinate and deliver high quality physiotherapy services for the patients requiring respiratory care in the cute wards (including ICU) in accordance with the mission, values and strategic plan of the Organisation.</li> <li>Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge from the service with appropriate self-management and signposting.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Rehabilitaion (in patients):</strong></p> <ul> <li>In conjunction with other team members the senior physiotherapist will lead, coordinate and deliver a high quality physiotherapy service for in patient rehabilitation/general medicine patients in accordance with the mission, values and strategic plan of the Organisation.</li> <li>Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge from the service with appropriate self-management and signposting.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><strong>Eligibility Criteria</strong></p> <p>1<strong>. Statutory Registration Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc</strong></p> <p>(a) Candidates for appointment must:</p> <p>i)Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.</p> <p><strong>AND</strong></p> <p>ii)Have three years full time (or an aggregrate of three years full time) post qualification clinical experience.</p> <p><strong>AND</strong></p> <p>(iii) Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.</p> <p><strong>AND</strong></p> <p>(iv) Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.</p> <p></p> <p><strong>2. Annual registration</strong></p> <p>(i)On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU</p> <p><strong>AND</strong></p> <p>(ii)Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).</p> <p></p> <p><strong>Post Specific: </strong></p> <p><strong>Stroke:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate depth and breath of experience in the assessment and treatment of stroke and TBI clients</li> <li>Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the area of stroke/TBI</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><strong>Resiratory Care:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate evidence of at least 4 months recent experience within the ICU setting</li> <li>Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in respiratory care and tracheostomy care</li> <li>Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the area of respiratory</li> </ul> <p><strong>Rehabilitation (in patients):</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate depth and breath of experience in the assessment and treatment of older persons</li> <li>Demonstrate experience working in the acute hospital setting</li> <li>Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the area of older persons/frailty</li> </ul> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p>
