Procurement Manager

<p><strong>The Role</strong></p> <p>We are looking for an experienced and highly driven procurement professional, ideally with robust indirect/services experience and international exposure, who can bring a positive and proactive approach to the business, collaborating with, influencing and challenging colleagues and suppliers to drive value and standards for the OASIS Group.</p> <p>Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will bring a strong commercial mindset with the ability to spot opportunity for improvement and build and execute strategies to deliver. They will create, implement and maintain a procurement strategy that will deliver regional and corporate objectives. They will be responsible for developing a category management strategy, leading tenders and negotiations, managing supplier relationships, and influencing colleagues.</p> <p>This is a highly visible role, with a high degree of responsibility and autonomy, and the opportunity to make a real difference to the Group’s performance.</p> <p></p> <p><strong>Applicant must be located near one of our site locations in Birmingham or Swords, Dublin.</strong></p> <p></p> <p></p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage procurement activities for the entire source to contract process including strategy creation, tendering, supplier selection, contracting and implementation, and ongoing contract and supplier management activities.</li> <li>Ensure vendor adherence to all group policies, and compliance with laws and regulations.</li> <li>Identify and proactively manage supply risk and develop strategies to mitigate.</li> <li>Develop category management strategies, in collaboration with department heads, to drive value in the supply chain, deliver department requirements, and raise vendor service level.</li> <li>Lead the commercial relationship for all suppliers, and hold responsiblity for the on-boarding, off-boarding and contract renewal of suppliers.</li> <li>Work with major suppliers to discover and exploit opportunities for continuous improvement, performance improvement, savings, and other efficiencies.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p></p> <p><strong>Candidate Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrable depth of procurement experience, ideally in indirect or services procurement, with an ability to flex between different categories.</li> <li>Experience of international contracts desirable.</li> <li>Academic background (Bachelor) preferred, ideally in business administration, finance and or procurement.</li> <li>MCIPS would be advantageous.</li> <li>Demonstrable experience of working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.</li> <li>Ability to learn and become the “go-to” category expert for their categories, including sourcing and evaluating new suppliers and services.</li> <li>Strong analytical skills, coupled with good business understanding and the ability to proactively identify new opportunities, building organisational commitment to act on these</li> <li>Equally comfortable creating strategies, analysing complex information, and working with suppliers and colleagues.</li> <li>A strong work ethic. Exhibits a can-do mentality, pragmatic, flexible, drives for excellent results, strong delivery focus, willing to go the extra mile.</li> <li>A strong communicator and matrix team builder, that can influence with fact-based solution-focused presentations and proposals, incorporating the best ideas from others.
