JOB TITLE: Kitchen Porter RESPONSIBLE TO: Head Chef / Sous Chef SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB The cleaning of equipment, crockery and cutlery and the maintenance of a clean environment for the production of the food in accordance with good hygiene and health & safety practices. To be responsible for the efficient running of the shift, whilst ensuring that Hotel & Golf Links Procedures are followed at all times. To ensure the highest standards of guest care and customer satisfaction are maintained at all times. QUALITY STANDARDS To carry out all tasks in accordance with procedures as outlined in the Kitchen Procedure Manual. To ensure all tasks and checklists are actioned and completed during shift. To requisition cleaning products and materials as required and ensure the safe and proper use of such cleaning materials. To wash pots, cutlery, crockery and kitchen units. To clean walls, floors, ceilings and fittings. To maintain a clean wastage and compacting area. To minimise waste of all products and materials in line with Hotel & Golf Links policy. To ensure the highest standards of presentation and cleanliness of the Kitchen is maintained at all times. COMMUNICATION To bring issues to the attention of your Chef. To maintain effective communications with all Departments with specific attention to Food & Beverage Departments. To ensure that all are greeted with a friendly welcome and offered the highest standards of guest care and customer satisfaction. To identify maintenance issues and report accordingly. HEALTH & SAFETY To have full knowledge of and be able to act upon the Hotel Fire and Health & Safety Procedures. To complete all duties and tasks with due care for the Health and Safety of yourself and other employees and guests. To ensure the highest standards of personal presentation whilst wearing the company supplied uniform, in accordance with Department Standards Manual. To report, and where necessary, take action on incidents, accidents, fire, loss or damage. OCCASIONAL DUTIES To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by a member of the management team.
