This rich diversity fuels our business and enriches our culture.Objective To play a mentoring role in a dynamic Engineering team delivering daily support to the Operations team and wider business group.To work with multiple Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), running 7 FMCG sites.Work with the vendor helpdesk function, ticket management and reporting, to deliver best in class service to the business in order to minimize the impact of downtime to daily operations.To identify opportunities to improve the processes and systems that drive the day to day operation in the primary distribution facility, Citywest, and regional depots.The role will be centered on providing continuous improvement and process optimization throughout the warehouse, including but not limited to, the application and all its associated processes, workflows and functionalities while minimizing\removing all non-value added activities.To work on high profile Capex and continuous improvement projects as part of multi- discipline teamsMAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop an expertise in fundamental processes within the integrated warehouse management system and automated picking systems.Develop an expertise on how this system is integrated with a state of the art ERP system (SAP), as well as the ASRS and Miniload systems.Support the operations daily sustaining activities, ensure that the WMS performs to, and exceeds established targetsSupport the business in all testing activities on the test WMS. Work as part of a dynamic and multi-discipline team to deliver a robust testing solutionUnderstand, analyse and eliminate reoccurring faults or bugs on the WMSLiaise with facilities team on reoccurring mechanical or electrical issues on the automated crane and conveyor system.System auditing and maintenanceIdentify potential improvements to the WMS and associated processes.Business and operational analysis (Capacity, efficiency, performance, etc).QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREDMinimum Honors Degree in an Engineering discipline4-5 years prior Process engineering experience preferably in a mentoring roleExperience in the Pharma/FMCG sectors an advantageLean six sigma qualification an advantageCOMPETENCIESAttention to detailResults orientated – must be able to bring projects to completionStrong numerical & analytical skillsAbility to learn new systems quicklyAbility to see problems as a challengeEnthusiasm and willingness to get involved in all areas of Engineering, Facilities & operationsProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPointCandidate must be team orientated with the ability to work in cross-functional teams to accomplish goals set by the business.
